Jesus said to his disciples:
"If your brother sins against you,
go and tell him his fault between you and him alone.
If he listens to you, you have won over your brother.
If he does not listen,
take one or two others along with you,
so that 'every fact may be established
on the testimony of two or three witnesses.'
If he refuses to listen to them, tell the church.
If he refuses to listen even to the church,
then treat him as you would a Gentile or a tax collector.
Amen, I say to you,
whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven,
and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Again, amen, I say to you,
if two of you agree on earth
about anything for which they are to pray,
it shall be granted to them by my heavenly Father.

22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time
Jesus began to show his disciples
that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer greatly
from the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes,
and be killed and on the third day be raised.
Then Peter took Jesus aside and began to rebuke him,
"God forbid, Lord! No such thing shall ever happen to you."
He turned and said to Peter,
"Get behind me, Satan! You are an obstacle to me.
You are thinking not as God does, but as human beings do."

Then Jesus said to his disciples,
"Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself,
take up his cross, and follow me.
For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it,
but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
What profit would there be for one to gain the whole world
and forfeit his life?
Or what can one give in exchange for his life?
For the Son of Man will come with his angels in his Father's glory,
and then he will repay all according to his conduct."

Saint Monica Feast Day August 27

St. Monica of Hippo was born in 332 in Algeria North Africa,
remembered and honored in both the Catholic and Orthodox Churches (on different feast days).

A prayer🙏warrior for her son Augustine, her holy example
and incessant intercession led to his dramatic conversion.

Estranged from her eldest son Augustine she experienced a mysterious dream in which a messenger assured her: “Your son is with you.” After this experience, she allowed him back into her home and continued to beg G-d for his conversion for nine years.
Popular Christian legends recall Monica weeping every night for her son.

Jesus went into the region of Caesarea Philippi and
he asked his disciples,
"Who do people say that the Son of Man is?"
They replied, "Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah,
still others Jeremiah or one of the prophets."
He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?"
Simon Peter said in reply,
"You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
Jesus said to him in reply,
"Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah.
For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father.
And so I say to you, you are Peter,
and upon this rock I will build my church,
and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it.
I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven.

Mother Mary appeared outside a church in the village of Knock,
County Mayo Ireland on August 21, 1879.
Knock means “hill” in Irish.

During the apparition Mother Mary was silent and described as deep in prayer - her eyes looked towards heaven, her arms bent in front of her and palms facing inward.

Up to 25 witnesses said Mother Mary was beautiful and wearing a brilliant golden crown, dressed in white garments with a white cloak clasped at her neck.

To her right was St. Joseph and on her left John the Evangelist.
Further to the left was a cross and a lamb (symbol of Christ) upon an altar.

Apparitions of Mother Mary ask hearts to open to receive her Mother Love, protection & grace, as to flow love and compassion into the world.

At that time, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon.
And behold, a Canaanite woman of that district came and called out,
"Have pity on me, Lord, Son of David!
My daughter is tormented by a demon."
But Jesus did not say a word in answer to her.
Jesus' disciples came and asked him,
"Send her away, for she keeps calling out after us."
He said in reply,
"I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel."
But the woman came and did Jesus homage, saying, "Lord, help me."
He said in reply,
"It is not right to take the food of the children
and throw it to the dogs."
She said, "Please, Lord, for even the dogs eat the scraps
that fall from the table of their masters."
Then Jesus said to her in reply,
"O woman, great is your faith!
Let it be done for you as you wish."
And the woman's daughter was healed from that hour.

Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary August 15

The original name of this Solemnity was the “Feast of Mary, Mother of God”.
“Mother of God” in Greek means “Theotokos” and translates as “God-Bearer”.

The dogma of the Assumption is that at the end of her life,
the Blessed Virgin Mary was taken body and soul into Heaven.

As early as the 6th century, St. John Damascene wrote
that Mother Mary’s sacred soul and her most pure and sinless body
was not left on earth, but transferred to her heavenly throne.

In the Orthodox tradition the Assumption is known as the Dormition – or Falling Asleep – of the Theotokos.
This belief leaves open the question of Mary’s natural death.

Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Mary set out
and traveled to the hill country in haste
to a town of Judah,
where she entered the house of Zechariah
and greeted Elizabeth.
When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting,
the infant leaped in her womb,
and Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit,
cried out in a loud voice and said,
“Blessed are you among women,
and blessed is the fruit of your womb.
And how does this happen to me,
that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
For at the moment the sound of your greeting reached my ears,
the infant in my womb leaped for joy.
Blessed are you who believed
that what was spoken to you by the Lord
would be fulfilled.”

And Mary said:
“My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord;
my spirit rejoices in God my Savior
for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.
From this day all generations will call me blessed:
the Almighty has done great things for me
and holy is his Name.
He has mercy on those who fear him
in every generation.
He has shown the strength of his arm,
and has scattered the proud in their conceit.
He has cast down the mighty from their thrones,
and has lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has come to the help of his servant Israel
for he has remembered his promise of mercy,
the promise he made to our fathers,
to Abraham and his children forever.”

Mary remained with her about three months
and then returned to her home.

St. Clare of Assisi Feast Day August 11
Saints Clare & Francis are Spiritual Twin Flames -
she also came from a wealthy family and renounced all to follow God, became a monastic under the tutelage of Francis,
and founded a religious order known as the “Poor Clares” in her honor.
St. Clare was referred to as "Alter Franciscus“.

An army attacked Assisi and Clare went out
with a monstrance containing the Blessed Sacrament.
The soldiers fled in terror without harming anyone.
