Feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary

The Visitation commemorates Mary pregnant with Jesus traveling
to visit her cousin Elizabeth – who despite advanced age was pregnant with whom would become John the Baptist.

Mary replies with what we know as the Canticle of Mary or the Magnificat:

“My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord;
my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.
From this day all generations will call me blessed:
the Almighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his Name.
He has mercy on those who fear him
in every generation.
He has shown the strength of his arm,
he has scattered the proud in their conceit.
He has cast down the mighty from their thrones,
and has lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has come to the help of his servant Israel
for he has remembered his promise of mercy,
the promise he made to our fathers,
to Abraham and his children for ever.”
Luke 1:46-79

The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity
God so loved the world that he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him might not perish
but might have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world,
but that the world might be saved through him.
Whoever believes in him will not be condemned,
but whoever does not believe has already been condemned,
because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
John 3:16-18

St. Joan of Arc Feast Day May 30 🗡️🙏

Joan of Arc was born January 6, 1412 and heard the voices of Archangel Michael, St. Catherine, and St. Margaret – they are on the banner over her left shoulder!

She led French soldiers to defend against the English siege,
then was captured and sold to the English for 10,000 gold coins.
Joan of Arc was then tried as a heretic and witch.
She was condemned and sentenced to die at age 19 despite her innocence.
She was burned at the stake and the ashes raked
to expose her body to prove she did not miraculously escape.
So no relics would exist, her body was burned two more times
and the ashes thrown in the Seine River.

St. Joan of Arc is the patroness of soldiers and of France.
She bravely listened to and obeyed the Divine Guidance she heard.
Battle-hardened soldiers believed and followed her into battle.

Memorial Day -

We remember all who have given their lives in service.
May their names never be forgotten
and their lives, memory, & heroism honored.

Memorial Day began as Decoration Day in 1865 by freed slaves
who decorated black Civil War soldiers’ graves to honor their sacrifice.
Over 200,000 black soldiers fought in Union forces – more than all soldiers in the confederacy; and over 40,000 died in the fight to end slavery.

Blessed Julian of Norwich Feast Day is commemorated
May 13 even though she was never formally beatified (declared a saint).

Called Blessed but not formally beatified to Saint,
Julian of Norwich was a Middle Ages Benedictine Religious
and anchorite – a type of hermit who lived in a “cell” attached to a church
to lead a prayer oriented, ascetic, and Eucharist centered life.

Julian of Norwich was a mystic, author, and theologian.
Also known as Mother Juliana, she wrote the first book written
in English by a woman - “Revelations of Divine Love” –
based on sixteen visions received in 1373.

Julian describes the revelation of the "motherhood" of God
and the depth of Divine Love for us,
and how God suffers with humans as we experience the struggles of life.

Our Lady of Fatima Feast Day May 13.
Offer a rosary for peace as Mother Mary enjoined.

Over 100 years ago - May 13, 1917 - Mother Mary
appeared to 3 shepherd children near Fatima, Portugal.
They said she was “brighter than the sun” and dressed in white.
She was holding a rosary and standing above an oak tree.
The apparitions continued on the 13th day of the month.
Secrets, three prophesies, and eschatological
information were given to the children.
Mother Mary said to “Pray the rosary every day
to obtain peace for the world.”

Apparitions of Mother Mary ask hearts to open
to receive her Mother Love, protection & grace,
as to flow love and compassion into the world.
