Biblically, worry and anxiety are closely related. Both are often translated from the Greek word merimnaō, which describes being anxious or overly concerned with the cares of life and the future. Worry isn't simply having a concern; concern can lead to wise action. Worry becomes problematic when concern turns into anxious, repetitive preoccupation rather than trusting God with what we cannot control.

Questions to help recognize if you are being anxious.
-Am I repeatedly thinking about something I cannot control or change right now?
-Am I trusting God with this situation, or do I feel that everything depends on me?
-When I don't have an answer, can I leave the matter with God, or do I feel compelled to keep thinking about it?
-Is this concern prompting wise action, or is it producing fear without action?
-Have I brought this concern to God but then immediately taken it back through continued mental rehearsing?
-What am I believing I must control to be okay?

We often measure sin by how serious it seems to us rather than by the holiness of the God against whom it is committed. We tolerate what has become familiar—gossip, bitterness, pride, lust, unforgiveness, greed—and sometimes call it “just the way we are.” But Scripture gives us a different standard. When Isaiah encountered the holiness of God, his response wasn't to compare himself with other people; it was, “Woe is me!” (Isaiah 6:5). The closer we come to the holiness of God, the less comfortable we should become with the sin we have learned to tolerate. As children of God, we should be actively "killing" the sins in our hearts and lives.

“Who has spoken and it came to pass, unless the Lord has commanded it? Is it not from the mouth of the Most High that good and bad come?”
— Lamentations 3:37–38 (ESV)

Jeremiah wrote this verse in the midst of suffering and devastation. He acknowledges both good and calamity while affirming God's ultimate sovereignty.
This does not mean God is the author of evil, but it does mean that evil never operates beyond His authority or purposes. When we cannot make sense of what has happened, we can cling to the One who still holds our lives securely in His hands.

Steadfast Love (Hesed): Often translated as mercy, loyalty, or covenant faithfulness. It means a deep, active commitment to God and kindness toward people, rather than a temporary emotion.

Knowledge of God is more than just knowing facts about Him; it means that He desires a personal, intimate relationship that changes how you live.

God wants a genuine, loving relationship with you. This relationship is more than empty religious rituals, outward performance, or going through traditional motions without a sincere heart.
