Do you wish you had someone to back you up when you request time off for non-traditional holidays? Being a member of a decades-old church can help. Maybe that's why, in these uncertain times, membership in the Church of the Sacred Earth has spiked.

Problem: joining a church might seem tempting in these uncertain times, but having to conform to some ossified sacred text feels stifling.

Solution: the Church of the Sacred Earth: a Union of Pagan Congregations, incorporated in 1989 precisely to allow individuals and groups to practice nature-based religion without being told how to do it.

Reach out for more information.

Not everyone who follows a Pagan path has a place to call home. If you're looking for a way to show that your religion is legitimate without having anyone tell you how to practice it, please join us.

Attached in comments are the proposed bylaws. The main changes are:
- Board members need just be paid members and are appointed by the Ex. Dir.
- Assembly and its voting advisors are eliminated and all of its duties (approving ordinations, etc.) are moved back to the Board
- Affinity Councils are also removed.
- allow for electronic submission of reports by ministers, board, and congregations.
- suggest we raise dues from $20 (set in the 1980s) to $40 per year.

I didn't formally add an advisory board since it seems silly to create a body comprised of all current members of the organization.

Let me know what you think.

Sometime in mid-January or early February I'd like to have a reorganization meeting for CoSE.

All paid current/ life members will be invited. A quorum will consist of those present.

Are there dates that work better or worse for any of you?

Hi CoSE folks. Just posting to keep this page active. It would be lovely if you would post too. :-)

Calling all CoSEans! Shall we meet in 2017?

CoSE seems to be on the verge of a renaissance.... we have 1 new clergy member and a group considering congregation status.

Upon creating this page, I only invited those folks who are current on dues (which is basically our new member and all of our lifetime members). Please feel free to invite others who you think might be interested in reviving an active CoSE.

Then let's start a conversation about needs, goals, and plans (ie. vision and mission). Go to our Group page at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/267506660302193/
