We are pleased to welcome new house parents for one of the Heartland Youth and Children's Homes, Isaac and Darla Willis. From the banks of the Columbia River in Longview, Washington, and the Sierra Nevada foothills of Grass Valley, California, Isaac and Darla bring together two distinct backgrounds and one shared calling—to love and serve people wholeheartedly.
Isaac holds a Master of Divinity from A.W. Tozer Theological Seminary (2014) and carries both a pastor's heart and a father's heart for youth and those who are hurting. Darla is a registered nurse with a BSN from California State University, Long Beach, and has a gift for hospitality and compassionate care.
Married in 2012, Isaac and Darla both felt God’s call to long-term missions shortly after Isaac completed his degree. That call took them to Haiti for nine years, where they served with YWAM (Youth With A Mission) and Mission of Grace Haiti. It was there they met their daughter Sandra, who they later adopted. Their family grew again in 2017 with the birth of their daughter Rayah, and is now expecting a new addition, Elijah David.
Whether you find them connecting with people in their home, being active, leading Bible studies, or simply doing life alongside the young people God has placed in their care, the Willis family believes discipleship happens in the everyday moments. They are passionate about building intentional community and pursuing Jesus together, and the Heartland Community is excited to have them join the team!
Heartland Children & Youth Home provides a Christ-centered environment where teens can heal, grow, and discover purpose through mentorship, accountability, education, and community. Families don’t have to walk through difficult seasons alone. Visit heartlandyouthhome.org for more information.
