Pray for our association as we GO

We are excited to announce that there will be a summer 2026 SRBA mission trip opportunity. We are looking to partner with a ministry called DR Vision in the Dominican Republic.
The trip dates will be July 4-11, Saturday to Saturday with flights out of and back into RDU. If you have ever wanted to experience a mission trip, this is your
chance.

As we continue to build and equip our team for the upcoming association mission trip to the Dominican Republic, we ask that you’d consider partnering with
us in one of 2 ways.
First, would you consider helping “send” our team? That could look like partnering to help send some of our sister church members on the trip. Each team member has an approximate cost of $1800 which is all inclusive from airfare, to transportations, to accommodations and food. Another opportunity to help “send” is by partnering with us to meet our project goals. One big goal is to raise $30K to finish building the wall around the ministry property. This added level of safety and security will allow the rescued women and children to more easily heal physically, emotionally, and spiritually. We, at the request of the missionary, are planning to take Spanish language study Bibles for use in the local church with leaders as well as the seminary they have started. What we take for granted here, is not easily obtained there.

The second opportunity to participate in the trip is through prayer. Pray for our team to grow in their personal walks with Christ as they prepare to go, as they go, while they serve, and after they return home.
Pray that the mission does not stop upon returning home. The needs here are great as well as the needs there. Pray for the safe travel and health of the team. Pray for their unity and that the enemy would not be able to distract from or disrupt what the Lord has planned.
If you or your church would like more information or would like to help “send” the team, please reach out to me or to our AMS Rev. Ken Smith.

All financial donations may be made out to and mailed to the SRBA office.
Deadline to send support is May 28th.

Thank you for your partnership,
Rev. Greg Hombirg

SRBA Deacon Training Workshop Scheduled for February 28th.

The South Roanoke Baptist Association will host a Deacon Training Workshop led by Rev. Ken Smith, Associational Mission Strategist for the SRBA. The training is open to all churches within the South Roanoke Baptist Association and is designed to encourage, equip, and strengthen those serving in the role of deacon.

The workshop will be held on Saturday, February 28, at Belhaven Baptist Church, located at 251 Edward Street in Belhaven, NC. A light breakfast will be provided beginning at 8:30 a.m., with the training session running from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

This event offers an opportunity for both current and prospective deacons to grow in their understanding of biblical servant leadership and practical ministry within the local church.

Churches are asked to register by February 17. To sign up or for additional information, please contact the associational office at 252-756-4332 or email [email protected]
