Our "Rock of Ages (Cleft for Me)" Sunday summer worship series continues at 9:30AM Sunday with communion and special music by our VBS children and an offertory reflection entitled "Peter & Jesus Talk" by Miss Phil.

We're getting ready for our Road Trip themed Vacation Bible School which kicks off Monday night at 6PM. Over four evenings, we will be reminded that God is with us throughout the journey—when we lose our way, feel joyful or lonely, are near or far—wherever we go!

First Bethel is one of the many partners of the Daily Bread ministry in Pittsburgh's Northside neighborhood.
In this video, Program Director Bob Maravalli shares what happens beyond the meal. Volunteers don't just serve food... they sit down, build relationships, offer encouragement, and walk alongside members of the community. Sometimes it's a warm meal. Sometimes it's a listening ear. Sometimes it's helping someone take the next step toward the support they need. That's what community looks like.

First Bethel is in the middle of “Rock of Ages (Cleft for Me).” This is a Summer Sunday Worship Series bringing relevance and levity to worship. There are many Classic Rock songs that connect to the Christian Faith at some level. In this series, a different Classic Rock song is at the center. After sharing the inspiration for the musical artist’s writing, connecting points to our walk in the faith and Christ-likeness are shared. Songs explored so far have been: “Where the Streets Have No Name” (U2), “Dust in the Wind” (Kansas), and “Brother Love’s Traveling Salvation Show” (Neil Diamond). Coming this Sunday is “Jesus Is Just Alright” by the Doobie Brothers. Join First Bethel in this worship series 9:30am on Sundays through the end of August! See you in church!

We are called to prayer for Russ & Lorna Schlutz as they grieve the sudden passing of their beloved son Erik. Our hearts also go out to his daughter Lexi and brother David during these difficult days.
Erik passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, July 4th.
A Celebration of Life will be held at First Bethel United Methodist Church at a future date.
Let us surround Erik's family and friends with our love and prayers.
