As the International Pentecostal Holiness Church prepares for the 30th General Conference this July, we are taking a look back at meaningful moments from previous gatherings.

This video comes from the 2022 General Conference and features General Superintendent Doug Beacham alongside General Ministry Directors Talmadge Gardner, Garry Bryant, and Tommy McGhee praying over soil that had been brought from nations around the world. The soil served as a powerful symbol of the global ministry of the IPHC and the countless lives being touched through the work of the church across many cultures and countries.

As we look ahead to this year’s General Conference, may this moment remind us of God’s faithfulness, the worldwide mission He has entrusted to us, and the ongoing call to take the gospel to the nations.

Part of the internship in the archives including learning about archives and history from Rev. Dan Woods .

We also interviewed the head of special collections and archives at Clemson University, Nick Richbell, who is also the President of the South Archivists Association.

We got to spend time learning about running a museum from Mrs. Erin Jones who oversees the best Renaissance art collection in the U.S.

We also got to go to the First American's Museum and explore sharing deeply political and controversial history through a museum. It was often immersive and catered to our need for sound and film.

We also got to see a webinar about storytelling non-profits for the purposes of publicity or funding.

The internship was a rich learning experience, blending hands on work with these interviews. I also taught a daily lesson in either museum work or archives.

With all the talks of women in ministry this week, listen to the powerful prayer of a woman, who was in ministry for most of her life.

In this treasured video, the late Mrs. Faye Leggett, who would later serve as First Lady of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church from 1997–2009, is seen praying during the 1987 Feast of Ingathering (now Vision4Education) at Holmes Bible College.

As you listen carefully, you’ll hear more than a single voice. The sanctuary is filled with the sound of believers praying together, voices rising in faith, intercession, and expectation. Among them, one voice can be heard praying with particular fervor, a reminder of the passionate prayer culture that helped shape generations of Pentecostal believers.

Moments like this are more than historical recordings; they are reminders of the spiritual foundation upon which we stand today. The churches we worship in, the ministries we serve, and the lives that continue to be transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit are, in many ways, the fruit of prayers prayed by faithful saints who came before us.

We are heirs of a praying people. We stand on the shoulders of those prayers.

Our new summer intern is helping us make great headway on the hundreds of items scanned in for the JH King Collection. We have lessons in archives and museum work. Plus we have visited a couple of key museums and discussed how they tell their story. Today, we toured the Oklahoma state capitol. We decided that the state seal, which incorporates many types of info, is a good example of education in a museum.

The IPHC Archives has a college intern for the very first time! She's a student from Emmanuel University who is studying history. She wants to go into Museum Studies after graduation. We are working on the J. H. and Blanche King collection this week. As part of her internship, I was able to set up some time for her to meet via Teams with some different people. We met with Darrin Rodgers, Director of the largest Pentecostal archives and museum in the U. S. on Monday Flower Pentecostal Heritage Center. In a couple of years, they will have a brand new museum to visit!

Since where I teach in South Carolina is Christian in name only, I forget that there are universities where education is a ministry. Where students worship from the heart. Where administrators, faculty, and staff lead with Christ. Where people pray. Southwestern Christian University in Bethany, Oklahoma is a place where Christ is at the center, and it makes a difference in the lives of students. I hope you consider giving to this school. Last night, their 80th anniversary celebration really touched my heart. I've been in higher ed 27 years. So believe me when I say it is truly special. God is working through these people and at every level. Pray for all who minister and learn here.

At Southwestern Christian University's 80th Anniversary! It was a wonderful night! I encourage you to sow into this school. They are doing so well! The coach shared that over the last ten years, 50 athletes had been saved. The One Voice singers led worship at the end. They were so good. It's a blessing to hear faculty and leaders and students testify.
