New update on the GoFundMe fundraiser: Dear Friends and Supporters,

We hope this message finds you well. We are writing to share an important update regarding our ongoing restoration project at the St John Cassian Orthodox Chapel.

The situation with our building has escalated significantly, necessitating a reevaluation of our initial plans to minimize costs and expedite the project timeline. In response, we have decided to scale back our efforts to focus on preserving the original footprint of the chapel and constructing a separate structure adjacent to it.

This new plan involves demolishing the rear addition and restoring the chapel to its original footprint, while simultaneously building a new structure to the side of the original building. This change significantly reduces the expense of the project and allows us to move forward with the project more swiftly.

To capitalize on current steel pricing and avoid potential future cost increases due to raw material shortages and other market volatility, we have had to order the steel kit for the new structure this month. The fabrication and delivery of the steel structure are expected between mid to late September. As a result, almost all initial funds raised have been allocated towards paying the steel kit.
Our immediate need is to raise $100,000 to cover the costs of demolition, rehabilitation of the original chapel, site preparation, and obtaining necessary permits for constructing a new parish hall, kitchen, classrooms, and offices. All donations are fully tax-deductible, and your support is crucial in helping us meet this urgent need.

The proposed 70ft by 20ft structure will feature:
• A spacious first-floor parish hall and kitchen facility for community gatherings and events
• Upstairs Sunday school classrooms to accommodate our growing congregation
• A versatile flex space (approximately 500 sq ft) suitable for overflow dining, adult education, parish meetings, and hosting various functions
• Dedicated offices and a library/conference room for administrative purposes and spiritual enrichment

We are grateful for your continued support and understanding as we navigate these challenges. Your generosity will enable us to preserve our cherished chapel's history while creating a functional and welcoming space for our congregation and the broader community.

Please donate and share this update with your network to help spread awareness of our urgent campaign. Together, we can ensure the St John Cassian Orthodox Chapel continues to be a vibrant, growing witness to the truth of the Orthodox Christian faith.

We are excited to share an important update regarding the St. John Cassian building project. Our anonymous Benefactor has went on and given the remaining portion of the $50,000 matched funds a little early. This crucial step allows us to use the funds as collateral in our effort to secure a loan that will cover the remaining cost of the rebuild.

After much deliberation, we have decided to pursue a loan to move this project forward as quickly as possible. The condition of the building continues to deteriorate, and it is clear that immediate action is needed to ensure its safety and functionality for our community.

Your continued prayers and support are vital as we navigate this next phase. Together, we are ensuring that the St. John Cassian building will stand strong for generations to come. Thank you for being a part of this journey with us!

If you have any questions or would like to contribute further, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
