The Bible study in the sanctuary will look a little different this evening. Our Patch and Royalty Clubs resume tonight, so the young people will go directly to their club meetings rather than being dismissed after the song service. In addition, tonight is parents' night in Royalty Club. Pastor Moore will go over the Royalty Club theme and the schedule for the last part of the year. That means several people will be gone from the Bible study, but we have a great chapter to study. We laid the groundwork last week for Saul's slaughter of the Amalekites. How could a loving God order that!? When you study the history and what it means, it makes more sense. This week, Saul will achieve military victory but lose. You'll need to read I Samuel 15 to see what that means.

I'd like to extend a special invitation to our Academy family. The midweek service is a family night. We have activities for the young people and an interactive and enjoyable Bible study for the adults. You may find that this is one of the best times to get to know people and make new friends. Make it a habit to attend. You and your children will benefit.

Having start & stop times in our church and academy schedule motivates us as we prepare for the 2026-27 Academy year. Today, the staff put the second coat of sealant on the downstairs floors in the east wing. A delay in getting the sealant means that wing will be closed again on Sunday. By Monday, it should be dry and ready for teacher in-service. In addition, we've made many other preparations. It is fun to see the rooms coming together and having the young people here for practices.

Sunday's schedule is routine for the next two weeks. The biggest thing to remember is both the prayer time and the combined Growth Class. We did switch the schedule a little. This week at 9:30 AM, Sam Stewart will answer the question, "How could a loving God send good people to hell for eternity just because they didn't believe in Him?" Our missionary, Theo vanReijn touched on the subject. Sam will go into greater detail.

Now, be careful! The question is not "What do you think about a woman being a pastor? The questions must be, "What does the Bible say?" I am not God, and neither are you, so the only right thing to do is to search the Scriptures for answers to our questions. On Sunday, at 9:30 AM, we will do just that. We will evaluate the arguments used to affirm women in pastoral roles, as well as the biblical passages. Though you may know the answer, you need to have a firm biblical footing to respond when the topic comes up. Pastor Wright is answering the "tough question" tomorrow morning and next week (predestination). I hope we will see you here.

Sunday also marks the start of a couple of other activities.
1. Vacation Bible School! Invite guests to come with you. Our VBS goes from Sunday through Thursday from 6:00 to 8:30 PM.
2. Work nights - while the children are enjoying VBS, we have a couple of work projects going on. I need some people to help! If you can come on one or more of the nights, sign up at the information desk.

The Bible study at 7:00 PM opens a new venture for the Israelites. They have a king, and that king is tasked with rescuing the people in Jabesh Gilead. This is a first for them. They had demanded a king, and God consented. Now, they are under a whole new form of government. God is going to use this incident to remind them that He remains sovereign and the only one who can assure them of victory.

In I Peter 5:7, believers are to "cast all your care (anxiety) on Him (God)." Does that mean I can just turn it over to God and go on with life with no further responsibilities? Surely not. I must fulfill my duties. Still, the verse must mean something and something significant. On Sunday, we will tackle I Peter 5:6-7 and try to fill in some answers to these questions. Lord willing, you will have a better understanding after working through the details of the verses.

Two weeks of our summer church camps have concluded. STEM camp 1 & 2 are in the books, and soccer camp begins on Monday. We have our regular service schedule this weekend, with two activities following the morning worship service.

The midweek service was on Tuesday night. We will not have a Bible study on Wednesday this week. The graduations have gone great! On Sunday, we had the high school graduation; Tuesday morning, a fantastic preschool graduation; and Tuesday night, an excellent K-5 graduation. The staff at our Academy does a great job and works together to represent the Lord and our ministry well. Thank you!
