The book of Haggai carries a word that will make you sit back and examine your life. The Lord looked upon a people who were working, planting, earning, eating, drinking, and building… yet they were never truly satisfied. And in the middle of all their striving, God spoke these words: “Consider your ways.” — Haggai 1:5 KJV Sit with that for a minute. Consider your ways. Consider what you’ve been building without praying about it. Consider what you’ve been chasing without asking God if it belongs to you. Consider how exhausted you’ve become trying to carry what was supposed to be surrendered at His feet. Sometimes we ask God, “Lord, why does nothing feel like enough?” while He is gently calling us back to Him. Haggai reminds us that we can be busy and still be spiritually empty. We can accomplish things and still lack peace. We can build a life that looks beautiful from the outside while our spirit is quietly thirsting for the presence of God. There comes a time when you have to stop and consider your ways. Have I prayed about this? Have I sought the Lord concerning this? Am I following His direction, or am I asking Him to bless a direction I chose without Him? Sis, God was never supposed to be someone we only call upon when the walls start falling. He is supposed to be the foundation upon which the walls are built. “I am with you, saith the Lord.” — Haggai 1:13 KJV What a promise. You do not have to walk into tomorrow alone. You do not have to understand every season. You do not have to carry the weight of knowing how everything will work out. Seek Him. Obey Him. Walk with Him. And when life becomes loud, return to those simple words: Consider your ways. Maybe the answer isn’t to try harder. Maybe it’s to return to God. 🤍✨
