It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Heather Anne Lehr, who left this world unexpectedly on Thursday, January 15 at the age of 56.
Heather lived a life filled with love, laughter, and creativity. Her greatest joy was her family — she was a devoted wife, mother, and a proud, doting grandmother whose face lit up whenever she spoke of her grandchildren. Her home was always filled with warmth, stories, and the lull of Hallmark movies.
A gifted crafter, Heather found happiness in crocheting, sewing, and creating beautiful blankets — many of which she donated to foster children, Larissa Allen's ChemHo-Ho-Hope charity, and the Mennonite Search and Rescue benefit. Her generosity and compassion touched countless lives, both near and far.
She had a deep love for animals and a particularly special bond with her faithful dog, Gizmo. In her life, she had great passion for horseback riding, soccer, and traveling with family and friends. She graduated from Elon University in North Carolina in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. Her hobbies reflected her zest for life — scrapbooking, photography, reading, and wine tasting brought her endless joy and creativity. She had a soulful appreciation for capturing memories, sharing stories, and celebrating life’s simple pleasures.
Heather’s legacy is one of love, giving, and grace. She leaves behind a family and circle of friends who will forever cherish her laughter, her wisdom, and the gentle strength she shared so freely. She was always the first one to start each day with a thoughtful text or Snap!
Though she may be gone from our sight, the beauty she created — in her stitches, her photographs, and her love — will remain forever in our hearts.
