Most people only know about Jonah being swallowed by a great fish because he disobeyed God's command. Why did he disobey God? If you read the entire book you will discover his sin was not fear of the people of Ninevah, because he knew God would protect him. His sin was bigotry. He simply did not want the people of Ninevah to be saved. When the people of God decide who should (and should not) be saved--because of color, race, ethnicity, country of origin, lifestyle, etc.--they are interfering with God's commands.
