Prayer for Today -

We want to know you better Lord, but we think ourselves too busy for things like Bible study and prayer. We would be better off and better prepared for life if we had the time for this. So, Lord, make time for us, and call us to just sit and listen to you more often. Like your disciples of old, we know that you desire to share all things with us, to dispel the darkness, and bring us into the light. So may it be Lord. With hearts and minds wide open, may we come to you today. AMEN.

MY PRAYER FOR TODAY
It is no small thing Lord, to forgive those who have caused us harm. Our hearts want to hold on to that hate and resentment. How then is it O Lord that you can forgive our sins, by thought word and deed against thy divine majesty? We remember the prayers, but we marvel nevertheless that you have loved us still and granted us such amazing grace.
Lord, we want not only to be forgiven, but also to be free of the sin of not forgiving others for the harm that they have caused us. Put inside of us also this desire to forgive as we have been forgiven.
We call to mind now all of those against whom we hold a grudge. Help us Lord to forgive. We call to mind now the anger we have within us for people whose only crime is to not agree with us. Help us Lord to forgive. We remember the sins of others, and we forget our own so quickly. Help us Lord to forgive.
How boundless is your Love and grace, O Lord. May we who have received also give such grace to others in your Name. AMEN!

A Prayer for Today -
We live in community, and in some other place and time that community might have been different, but this is where we are right now. So, Lord, help us see this moment as a blessing and try to become a blessing to the others the others who are around us right now.
This day we may be struggling and unable to do ordinary things, let alone great things, but help us be present in the moment, so that we may we find joy in doing whatever small things that will bless the others around us. Let. us sharing the joys and the sorrows and burdens of life with each other, today so we yet build together a community of grace. What we have received let us also give.; loving and forgiving one another because of the gift of grace that we have received from you. You have forgiven us, so let us also forgive one another today, and share together what we have.
This first and then all the rest. The state of the whole world we cannot change today, but only pray and trust You. But this corner of the world is where we are, and so through us today it can also become where you are, and a place where all things are possible.
AMEN!

Dop you remember that song by Celine Dion - the one called a Mother’s Prayer? Part of it goes,

I pray she finds your light
And holds it in her heart
As darkness falls each night
Remind her where you are

Lead her to a place
Guide her with your grace
To a place where she'll be safe

It is worth remembering on this Mother’s Day, both the love we have received from our parents, and our ongoing responsibility to provide a safe place for all the children of the world.
