Got my first shot yesterday thanks to this email I got from my friend Sheila. It’s true. Hi everyone,
If you haven't been vaccinated yet and are 65 or older, you can sign up with ACCOS who had enough vaccines that Toby and I are getting vaccinated this coming Tuesday am in Castro Valley at the library. There were lots of openings for appointments on Tuesday when I signed us up Friday night.
A neighbor and old friend told me about it. They got their vaccines through the Alameda Co. Optometry Society at the Lake Merritt BART station. She said it was very well run and impressive.

Ignore everything on the first website page about having to be an optometrist or a provider, you'll see at the end this is the CA Dept of Public Health. Go on and fill out the form. When I got to insurance, I entered Medicare and the rest of the form grayed out and frozen. They don't want your medicare number. Ignore the gray, scroll on and go to the next page. And I received the confirmation email about 5 mins. later. You make your follow-up appointments before you leave on the phone.
