The quilters meet two times a month to work together and join the pieced tops, the batting, and the backs together. Much of the sewing of the tops was done by individuals at their homes and then are brought to church to be tied and edges sewed around the quilts. Many hours of work are put in at church and at home. They share a meal at noon on work days. Much conversation and planning of other projects at church is accomplished as they finish the quilts.
This group is always looking for additional sewers and people (male or female) to tie the quilts. No machine or experience it needed to come and tie the quilts.

The Roseni Cemetery Committee and other helpers gather each year on the Friday before Memorial day to raise the flags that surround the cemetery. The Committee is under the leadership of Eli, Sasha and Clifton.
On Memorial Day, which falls on May 25 this year, the Alcester Color Guard will be at the cemetery at 8:40. After their 21 gun salute, there will be a short service in the cemetery followed by an indoor program and refreshments.

Sundays in May have so many opportunities to see God at work in our congregation. Last Sunday saw our high school graduates be reminded that we, as church, will be them in Spirit as they move on in life. Our youth sang a favorite song as the Sunday School ends for the summer. "If I Were a Butterfly" is an old song with lots of actions about creatures in God's creation that we might wish we were. We could have been a fuzzy bear, a wiggly worm, an octopus, an elephant or a butterfly. But, in the end,we are glad that God made me - me. He gave me a heart, he gave me a smile, He gave me Jesus and made me His child.

This evening the youth will present a program called WALK TO BETHLEHEM. They are great actors. Their play was even written by one of the senior high Sunday School students. It is a wonderful view of Jesus' birth story from a youth perspective.. Come join us at 5:00 for this best story of all. There is a potluck after.
