GCC Unshakeable Youth had an awesome afternoon of fellowship at Kidd Family Farm pumpkin patch! The weather was perfect and the apple c***r slushies were 10/10 😊. We want to thank our chaperones who tagged along to help out! “This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” -Psalm 118:24 🧡

A quick little story about me. When I was 32 years old I decided to enroll in cosmetology school. I had a 31/2 year old toddler and about two months into school my life was changed. I had been married for 14 years, a beautiful home, nice car and my child had everything. But drugs entered the picture and I found myself married to a complete stranger who was addicted and three rehabs later didnt help the situation. I didn’t want my child to think that was normal life so we left. I lost my home and everything inside, my car, my relationship and no money to make my payments to the school. What I didn’t lose was my faith! I prayed a lot! And everyday I smiled at customers while i cut their pound of Bologna and carried on like what i was doing was perfectly fine because at the end of the day, it paid the bills and kept my baby fed. Then the owner of the school called me and told me that if I would paint the inside of the school, that would cover my remaining debt and I could continue with school. So that’s what I did.
So long story short, In walks Michelle and I instantly loved her and one day I could hear her from across the school singing amazing grace and it changed me. I would have her sing it all the time because it calmed me and she had no idea. We lost touch after school like so many people do but then I walked into Great Commission and there she was. I cant hold back my tears when she sings amazing grace and it’s not because I’m that same person from so many years ago. It’s because by Gods grace, I have a beautiful life with wonderful kids and an amazing husband. I have the best church family and I still get to hear my Michelle remind me of Gods Amazing Grace.

Gods Grace is so amazing.
Everyday I try to give grace to everyone no matter how hard that can be sometimes because I know I am stubborn, mouthy, not always in a good mood and still I’m given grace and forgiveness. God is so good all the time. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could all get up and decide to give grace no matter what.

It was a great evening for fellowship and kickball during our GCC Unshakeable Youth meeting last night! After dark, we headed inside for the final part of our lesson—Jesus saw opposition when He healed the paralyzed man and forgave his sins. Instead of shouting for joy, the religious leaders felt threatened by the power of Jesus and were unable to appreciate the miracles that had just happened. We read Ephesians 6:12 and talked about how we are not fighting against people, but our true enemy is satan and his forces of darkness. We need the power of the Holy Spirit, and our fellow believers to stand next to us and support us in this battle.

All GCC youth would like to thank Steve and Tabby Parke for the delicious pizza and cupcakes tonight!

Join us tomorrow night!

Human trafficking and child exploitation are not problems that only exist in distant countries or large cities. They can reach into any community, and the Church must be prepared to recognize the warning signs and respond with wisdom, compassion, and courage.

Great Commission Church is honored to welcome Dr. David Lamb, National Director of Called to Rescue, on Wednesday, September 30, at 7:00 p.m. Dr. Lamb will present “Human Trafficking Awareness & Church Response,” an important and timely presentation designed to help pastors, ministry leaders, parents, educators, and concerned members of our community better understand these issues.

We will learn about the realities of human trafficking and child exploitation, warning signs that are often overlooked, and practical ways churches and individuals can help without interfering with law enforcement or trained investigators. Every church can make a difference. We do not have to do everything, but we must be willing to do something.

I invite you to join us for this important evening and encourage you to share this announcement with others.

Last night, GCC Unshakeable Youth continued their study on Jesus healing the paralyzed man. Jesus not only saw the faith of the man’s four friends, but He seen the fragility of the paralyzed man. Jesus looked upon him with compassion, just like how He looks at us. We talked about how anything can be taken away from us in the blink of any eye, except our relationship with our Lord and Savior!

We tested our knowledge of past lessons, current lessons, and general Bible trivia with a good game of Jeopardy! Our winning team was Lily, Andrew, Chase, Olivia, Zakk, Sunny, Lilee, and Maleigha!

A big thank you to Matt and Janice Griggs for treating all the kids to Papa John’s pizza at the GCC Snack Shack!
