DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Luke 14:
So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.

Most Christians are not called to be missionaries or preachers, but everyone is called to follow Christ (1 Corinthians 4:16). We are called to be faithful wherever He puts us in society. Christians are called to be controlled by the Spirit and to bear the fruit of the Spirit (John 15:8). We are called to be Christ’s ambassadors wherever God puts us (2 Corinthians 5:20).

John 12:26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

Nothing is more important or more worthy of our consideration than following God’s call to follow Jesus.

DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Philippians 3:21
Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body……………………

Our bodies are dying. We might as well admit it. This process began the moment we were born. In this process, we have developed evidences of this decay such as arthritis, deformation, etc. We are in the process of terminating our lives, as we know it on earth. The descriptions of the process may be different but the message is the same. We are fading away like a v***r. Our bodies have begun to fall away like a pedal on a rose. It is only a short time until we are done in this body.

According to God’s word, that’s part of His plan. Every wrinkle and every pain takes us closer to the last step when Jesus will change our simple, weakening, old bodies into “forever bodies.” Then there will be no pain. No depression. No sickness. NO END!

So remember, this body we know now is not our “forever house.” It will serve us for the time being. But there is nothing like the time when every born again believer will enter Christ’s door.

Philippians 3:20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:

DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Matthew 16:25
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

Jesus is saying here that if we will give up our lives for Him, we will find true life.

When you are full of yourself, God can’t fill you. But when you empty yourself, God can fill you with His Spirit and by His Spirit, He can direct you, protect you and empower you to be useful in His Kingdom. In return you receive not just life but abundant life, but everlasting life in the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

John 10:10
10b…………………....I am come that they might have life, and that they might have itmore abundantly.

Are you full of yourself? If you are, there is no room for Jesus.

DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Luke 6:45
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

A good person produces good words from a good heart and an evil person produces evil words from an evil heart.

Jesus said that you can tell what is in a person’s heart by listening to what that person says. He used the word “heart” to mean a person’s true character and feelings. You can easily guess the character of a person whose words are encouraging, kind and truthful. People can’t see your heart, but they sure can see (and hear) what your heart produces.

DAILY DEVOTIONAL

James 1:2-3
[2] My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
[3] Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

The easiest way to handle difficulties is to change the way we think a about them. If God wanted to remove all the problems from our lives, He could. He allows us to go through struggles so we can experience His comfort, His faithfulness, and His presence. It is in problems that our faith brings us closer to God. So, when troubles come our way, we are to let them be an opportunity for joy because when our faith is tested, our patience and endurance has a chance to grow.

Job 14:1 1Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.

DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Isaiah 12:2-3
2 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH ismy strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.
3 Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.

Your salvation is priceless. You cannot estimate it. It is far greater than all the earth’s wealth and fortunes --- past, present and future.

We, as true believers, can draw strength from our salvation now, knowing that when our life on this earth ends, we will live forever with the One Who created all things and who sustains all things He created. It is impossible for anyone to receive all the love God offers us in this life. But then, we will be able to receive it all! Just imagine that!!

I've got a river of life flowing out of me
Makes the lame to walk and the blind to see,
Opens prison doors, sets the captives free.
I've got a river of life flowing out of me.
Spring up, O well, within my soul.
Spring up, O well, and make me whole
Spring up, O well, and give to me
That life abundantly

God loves you!

DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Romans 8:26
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Sometimes I find myself in a situation so overwhelming or confusing that I don’t even know how to pray about it. The words in this verse are very comforting in times like these.

The Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray, but the Spirit, Himself intercedes for us according to the will of the Father.

Romans 8:27
And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

Think about it: Even when we don’t know how to pray, God the Holy Spirit knows our needs and He brings those needs before the throne of god and pleads for us before God the Father in ways we will never understand.

What a mighty God we serve!

Hosea 14:9
Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.

No matter how much education and experience you might have, plan to keep learning. Richer and deeper levels of understanding will be met as you learn from and about God. Another way to keep learning is from your friends. You learn a lot about yourself from those around you if you will listen.

Yes, no matter how much you think you know. It is never enough. But if you are willing to be teachable, there is more to be learned.

I, like the apostle Paul, pray:

Ephesians 1:16-18
17That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

Psalms 138:8
8a The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me……………….

God wants us to become all that He created us to be. Within each one of us is the talent necessary to carry out whatever it is God calls us to do. However, it is our responsibility to develop and use these talents, abilities and gifts that He has placed within us. God intends for us to maximize our potential to become the man or woman He created us to be.

There is, however, work for each of us to do and He expects us to get it done. Our Heavenly Father does not call us to unfinished work or halfhearted missions. When He puts a goal in front of us, He expects us to pursue it with our whole heart, mind and soul and to accomplish what He has called us to do.

God loves you!
