🌷 Happy Mother’s Day to the Mothers of FIRSTLOVE Fellowship 🌷

Today, we pause to honor and celebrate every mother, grandmother, spiritual mother, auntie, caregiver, and woman of faith who continues to pour love, wisdom, strength, and prayer into the lives of others.

The Word of God reminds us, “Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her” (Proverbs 31:28). Mothers carry a special kind of grace. You love when you are tired, pray when you face burdens, serve even when no one is watching, and believe in your children even when the world has given up on them.

To every mother of FIRSTLOVE Fellowship, please know that your labor is not in vain. Your prayers matter. Your sacrifice matters. Your faithfulness matters. The seeds you have planted in love, discipline, encouragement, and faith will continue to bear fruit in generations to come.

May the Lord strengthen your heart, refresh your spirit, and remind you today that you are deeply loved, greatly appreciated, and wonderfully valued.

“Strength and honor are her clothing; she shall rejoice in time to come” (Proverbs 31:25).

Happy Mother’s Day from my heart to yours.

With love and appreciation,
Pastor James M. R. Johnson

Good Friday — The Weight of the Cross… and the Gift of Grace

📖 “It is finished.” — John 19:30

Good Friday stands as the most profound and sacred moment of Holy Week. Jesus, beaten, mocked, and nailed to a cross, hangs between heaven and earth not merely as a victim, but as a powerful sacrifice. What may seem like defeat embodies the ultimate fulfillment of God’s redemptive plan. Every step from the crown of thorns to the piercing of His hands was intentional, not accidental. He bore the weight of sin, your sin, my sin, the sin of the world.

The prophet Isaiah declared it centuries before: 📖 “He was pierced for our transgressions… crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him” (Isaiah 53:5). This is substitution. Jesus took our place. The penalty we deserved was placed on Him so that the righteousness He carried could be placed on us.

When Jesus cried, "It is finished" (tetelestai), He proclaimed that He had fully paid the debt of sin. His life was not over; instead, He secured our salvation. In ancient times, this word was stamped on a bill to signify "paid in full." Nothing left outstanding. Salvation reached its completion in that powerful moment, leaving nothing left to earn.

💭 Let’s make this personal…

The cross is not merely an observation; it is something we must embrace. Too often, we bear guilt that Jesus has already lifted from us. We carry the weight of shame that He has already crucified. Good Friday reminds us: you don’t need to earn what Jesus has already completed.

📖 “God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God” (2 Corinthians 5:21)

⚖️ Here’s the truth:

The cross reveals two things at the same time:
➡️ The seriousness of sin
➡️ The depth of God’s love

You are more sinful than you think, but more loved than you can imagine. And God didn’t ignore your sin—He paid for it.

📱 Sound familiar today?

We often:
• Try to fix what only Jesus can forgive
• Carry what He already removed
• Strive for approval that’s already been given

But the cross says: It’s already done.

🔍 Heart Check

Ask yourself:
➡️ Am I still carrying guilt Jesus already paid for?
➡️ Do I truly believe I am forgiven?
➡️ Am I living in freedom—or still bound by my past?

📖 “There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” — Romans 8:1

🙏 Challenge for Today

Pause and reflect on the cross.
Release every burden you’ve been carrying.
Receive His grace fully, not partially.

Let today be a moment where you stop striving… and start resting in what Jesus has already done.

🙏 Short Prayer

Lord, thank You for the cross. Thank You for taking my place and paying my debt in full. Help me to release every burden, every guilt, and every shame I’ve been carrying. Teach me to walk in the freedom You died to give me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

🔥 Closing

The cross was not the end of the story,
It was the turning point of eternity.

It is finished.
Walk in that truth.
