A pretty common question today is: What does your church have to offer my children?
So... What does Fairplay have to offer your children?
The answer: Jesus. We hope that's enough.
Don't take that the wrong way, it's not meant to be snarky, it's meant to make something clear. No matter what activities or programs a church may or not be able to provide, our responsibility is to give them the gospel.
At Fairplay, we believe our children don't need small truths to eventually grow out of. They need big truths they can grow into.
That's why we believe families should worship together on the Lord's Day. Our children sing with us, hear the preaching of God's Word with us, pray with us, and participate in the life of the church with us.
We have Sunday School, Wednesday night classes, VBS, church camp, lake days, swimming parties, and plenty of other opportunities for our kids to have fun and build friendships. We even host as a meeting place for a 4-H club once a month at our church.
FAIRPLAY LOVES KIDS.
Our boys serve as ushers on Sunday morning (and they all eagerly rush to ask to do it every week.) Kids help with outreach projects. They help with church workdays. They serve alongside the rest of the church.
They aren't merely spectators waiting to grow up before they can participate in the life of the church.
We want our children to know Christ, love His church, love His Word, and grow up serving Him alongside His people. We want them to know that at 5, or 7, or 10 years old, that they have a place in the church. Church isn't just something adults do while they watch and wait for their turn.
Our prayer is that when our children grow up, and they think about Fairplay church that they will be able to say:
“I learned to love Jesus here. I learned to love His Word here. I learned to love His church here.”
