πŸ”¨ Apostles Build β€” Habitat for Humanity of Saline County

We are so excited to be part of something tangible and beautiful in our community! This Sunday we will receive a special offering for the Apostles Build with Habitat for Humanity of Saline County β€” a chance to put our faith into action, brick by brick.

And if you're ready to roll up your sleeves, volunteers are needed for our build day on Tuesday, September 15th! There's no better way to be the hands and feet of Christ than to help build a home for a neighbor. Kathy Turpin has details on how to sign up β€” prayerfully consider whether this is your moment to say yes. 🏠

πŸ•ŠοΈ Join us for worship this Sunday, September 6!

Let's be honest β€” conflict is uncomfortable. Most of us would rather avoid it, endure it, or vent about it than actually work through it. And yet here we are, human beings in community together, bumping up against one another's rough edges on a pretty regular basis.

This Sunday we lean into that reality head-on.

We continue "The Shape of Us" with week three: "Conflict." Drawing from Exodus 12:1–14 and Matthew 18:15–20, we'll look at Jesus' remarkably clear and gracious roadmap for navigating the friction that inevitably comes when real people try to do life together. This isn't a session for airing grievances β€” it's an invitation to something harder and holier than that. To practice empathy. To pray β€” genuinely pray β€” for the people we're struggling with. To look across the tension and remember that the person on the other side is, like us, an image-bearer of God.

We don't have to navigate conflict perfectly. We just have to navigate it together, with honesty and humility, trusting that where two or three are gathered, Christ is right there in the middle of it. πŸ™

We will also gather at the Lord's Table this Sunday to share in the Sacrament of Holy Communion. ✝️

Here's how Sunday morning looks:

✝️ 9:30 AM β€” Worship Service & Holy Communion

All are welcome here. Come as you are.

Bring your whole self β€” the parts that are doing great and the parts that are still working things out. This community is for all of it. We'll see you Sunday. πŸ’›

πŸ”₯ Join us for worship this Sunday, August 30!

"But I'm not the right person for this."

If you've ever felt that β€” in a quiet moment when something nudged you toward a conversation, a commitment, a calling β€” you're in very good company. Moses felt it too. Standing before a burning bush, hearing the voice of God, and responding with every reasonable objection he could think of. Wrong person. Wrong credentials. Wrong everything.

And yet.

We continue our "The Shape of Us" series this Sunday with Exodus 3:1–15 and Matthew 16:21–28 β€” and at the center of both passages is the same uncomfortable, life-giving invitation: follow, even when it costs you something. Serve, even when you feel unqualified. Say yes, even when everything in you wants to say not me.

This isn't a Sunday about guilt-tripping anyone into signing up for a committee. It's something more honest and more hopeful than that β€” a space to name our resistance out loud, to sit with it, and to discover together that God has never once waited for us to feel ready before showing up. The burning bush didn't wait for Moses to get his confidence together. Grace doesn't work that way.

We'll explore what it looks like to move β€” slowly, faithfully, together β€” from I can't to here I am. And we'll be reminded that we don't make that journey alone. We lean on God and we lean on each other. That's what this community is for. πŸ™

All are welcome here. Come as you are.

Bring your hesitations. Bring your excuses. Bring your honest, reluctant, hopeful self. There's room for all of it here. We'll see you Sunday. πŸ’›

πŸ‚ Join us for worship this Sunday, August 23!

Something shifts this time of year. The rhythms of summer begin to quiet, the calendar fills back up, and we find ourselves gathering again β€” at school, at work, around tables β€” figuring out once more how to do life together.

And that's exactly where we're headed on Sunday.

We're beginning a brand-new series called "The Shape of Us" β€” and it's less a how-to guide and more an honest, hopeful conversation about who we want to be together as the church. As we move from summer into fall, we're pausing to take stock. An attitude check. A value inventory. Because the way we build community β€” the way we treat one another, show up for one another, and witness to our faith together β€” matters more than we sometimes realize.

This Sunday we open with a question that cuts right to the heart of it: What do we do with power?

We'll journey with some of the Bible's most unlikely heroes β€” the Hebrew midwives who defied a king, a mother and sister who outmaneuvered Pharaoh, a daughter who reached across the divide. From Exodus 1:8–2:10 to Matthew 16:13–20, we'll see what it looks like when ordinary people use their influence not for self-preservation, but for truth, for justice, for one another.

Power isn't inherently good or evil β€” it's a tool. And Sunday's worship invites us to ask ourselves, with honesty and humility: How am I using mine? Through prayer, hymns, and storytelling, we'll confess where we fall short and seek together the wisdom to wield our influence the way Christ calls us to. πŸ™

All are welcome here. Come as you are.

Whether you're returning from a full summer or just finding your way back, there is a place for you in this community. Come help us figure out the shape of us. πŸ’›

🀝 Join us for worship this Sunday, August 16!

How good and pleasant it is when God's people gather together.

That's not just a warm sentiment β€” it's the very first line of Psalm 133, and it's the heartbeat of everything we do when we come together on Sunday morning. This week we close out our "Praise Break!" series with one of the shortest and most quietly powerful psalms in all of Scripture. Just three verses. And yet it holds something the world is desperately hungry for: belonging.

True belonging β€” the kind Psalm 133 describes β€” isn't something we manufacture. It's what happens when we show up, sing the same songs, pray the same prayers, and remind one another that we are not alone. It's what happens when worship stops being a performance we watch and becomes a story we share. When we praise together, something shifts. We are drawn closer to God and closer to one another β€” and that closeness, that unity, is itself an act of praise.

This is what the church is for. And this Sunday, we get to live it together. πŸ™
