In the winter of 2002/2003 several couples were convinced that the direction the Episcopal Church of the United States was taking was not what they considered to be Christian. Prayer meetings were held in their homes, and Christopher Seddon made contact with the Episcopal Missionary Church (EMC) in Tennessee. The group incorporated as a Kentucky non-profit corporation in May 2003. After considerab

le discussion and consideration the congregation voted in December of 2005 to affiliate with the Anglican Province of Christ the King upon the recommendation of our rector at the time, Rev Donald True. In September 2007 the congregation voted to affiliate with the Anglican Church in America. This change was made based on the recommendation of our diocesan bishop The Rt. In joining the Anglican Church in America, we become part of the Traditional Anglican Communion, a worldwide communion of traditional Anglican parishes with an estimated 400,000 members. In 2012, the congregation voted to return to its roots. We are pleased to be welcomed back into the EMC. Marks is home to families seeking traditional, liturgical and anglican form of worship in Western Kentucky, Southern IL and IN, South Eastern Missouri as well as Western TN.
