Fairdealing church of Christ

Fairdealing church of Christ Welcome! The Fairdealing church of Christ is a group of believers who have been called out of the world to follow Christ!

We believe that Jesus has all authority, and we strive to adhere to His authority in all we do and teach.

It has been a wonderful five years working with this congregation, but it is tome to say that we are closing the doors of the Fairdealing church and turning the building over to another group of believers.
I will still be doing my morning lives on my personal page. Look me up on Monday, and we will continue out study of John’s Gospel.
I have looked forward to being with you every weekday and still look forward to seeing you on my personal page on Monday.
Thank you for the memories. May God bless you all.
In Him, Marc

From my friend Bob Buchanon

I met Leonel at Nelson’s restaurant one morning at breakfast. We had a good chat and then I turned the conversation to religion. I asked him if he believed in God and he said, “Yes.” I then asked if he was a Christian and he said, “No.” I asked if he had ever thought about studying the Bible and learning what God wants for his life. He then said, “I’ll do that some day when I get around to it.” I handed him a small piece of paper and said, “I want you to write down the date when you are going to die and I’ll instruct Nelson to come to your house to see if you’re ready to become a Christian before you die.” He replied with great explanation, “None of us know when we’re going to died.” I responded, “Exactly, that’s why TODAY is so important. Tomorrow might be your day.”
The next day he stopped by the restaurant to see Nelson and said, “I can’t get Bob’s words out of my head. Can we have a Bible study tonight?” He and his wife had trouble locating the books, but we had a powerful study for four hours.”

An article from a friend of mne
Adam Faughn
A random thought from about 2:45 this morning that I finally typed out. (And, by the way, this is not from any issue at Central. These are the most gracious people I know with my frail efforts at preaching! I just woke up super early and these thoughts randomly swirled around for awhile, and it occurred to me that they might provide some food for thought.)

----

"I wish he'd preach what I want."

Think about what your preacher considers whenever he is planning sermons:

IF...he seems to randomly chooses texts or topics each week, some will say he is just preaching on things he likes,
BUT IF...he preaches a series, some will say that he is riding a hobby horse and needs to get about preaching "the whole counsel."

IF...he chooses to preach textually, some will say that he is stuffy and is not hitting people where they live,
BUT IF...he preaches topically, some will say that he just cherry picks and prooftexts about a subject to reach a conclusion he's already decided.

IF...he chooses to preach a lot from the Old Testament, some will say that we aren't under that anymore and he needs to leave it be.
BUT IF...he chooses to preach primarily from the New Testament, some will say he is not taking us back to the types and shadows and examples that so beautifully bring us to Jesus.

IF...he chooses to approach a subject in a logical, maybe even scholarly, way, some will say that he needs to bring it down to where everyone can understand it and quit showing off his knowledge.
BUT IF...he chooses to approach a subject in a more practical way, some will say that he needs to study more deeply, quit being so flippant, and take us to the meat.

IF...he preaches with members in mind, some will say that he is running off those who don't grasp the Scriptures.
BUT IF...he preaches with guests in mind, some will say he is catering to the world.

IF...he preaches to the spiritually mature, some will say that he is just forgetting about those who are new to the faith and struggling to understand.
BUT IF...he preaches to those "newborn babes," some will say that is is spoon-feeding and spiritually starving everyone else.

As you start thinking about worship this Sunday, just consider that he thinks about this every single time he comes up with a sermon or series of sermons. These thoughts go through his head and the reason is simple: he wants to do his best for the Lord by reaching the most people with a message of Truth.

So, instead of thinking, "I'd wish he'd preach what I want," maybe you should say, "I'm grateful he loves us enough to preach what God wants," then give him time to preach as much Truth as he can over a lifetime of faithful service.

It's not "preach what I want." It's "Preach the Word"...and he's doing his best to obey that awesome command.

I thought this was well worth reading. But even more take it to heart!

“A few days ago while I was at the pool I saw a young mom and her little daughter walk into the pool area dressed in very pretty coordinated swimsuits.
The mom, with her perfect loose curls tied in a coordinated tape, spent the first few minutes talking aloud on her phone to a friend while her daughter stood waiting to get into the pool.
Mom ended the phone call and proceeded to scatter pool toys and sunscreen on a matching towel.
Then, after finding the right angle and the right light, mom took out her tripod and took a few selfies with her daughter.
Little girl asked to get in the pool
Mom said to wait and then posed her daughter in front of the pool, then entering the pool and then back out of the pool.
Little girl smiled big and said cheese like she had done it a million times. So Mama told her she could play now.
The little one swam for a couple of minutes.
Mom called a friend from her phone and started another conversation while her little girl asked politely and repeatedly:
“Mom, can you come to the water with me please?”
She was ignored.
"Mommy, will you come to play with me?" She asked 4 more times.
Mom looked at her, but never hung up the phone. After 10 minutes mom finished her call, picked up the sunscreen that never applied, the water toys that never touched the water, and then her daughter and left the pool.
I sat there thinking about what I had witnessed for a while later. I imagined the photos she took being perfectly edited and posted on social media with a caption like "Pool time with my girl!
Somewhere another mom will be at home with her kids, the house a mess because of her game, her hair rebellious for Mother's Day and her dirty laundry with saliva or peanut butter.
She's going to be tired because she spent the day cooking, caring, cleaning and playing with her kids.
She's going to look at that picture and compare herself to the perfect mom in the pool.
Guilt will whisper in your ear:
"You're not good enough... "
"You don't look like that mom in the pool... "
“You don’t have money to buy expensive swimsuits like that and you don’t have time to make memories like her”... and that young mom is going to believe it. She's going to feel like a failure. She'll never know that how she spent her time that day, was far better in the eyes of her children than that "perfect mom" in the pool.
What we see on social media is not always real.
Sometimes and often it's a complete set up.
It's staged and filtered, it's fake.
Sometimes we see absolutely wonderful vacation photos and beautiful homes and freshly-styled hair, but it's just ONE moment.
It's the best moment of a whole day spent like ours.
Working, cleaning and putting up the mess...
Mama don't compare yourself.
You are enough!
You're amazing and the best part is, you're REAL!
Your dirty beach, your messy house and your happy children are real and are proof that you are doing it right!”

🌍 Syria, somewhere around 1889 — a world as unforgiving as the sunbaked streets that shaped it.
In a place where weakness was rarely shown mercy, two boys wrote a quiet story of strength — not with muscle, but with love.

Ahmed and Samir were both orphans, both forgotten by the world, and yet they found something most people never do: a friendship stronger than fate.
Ahmed was completely blind. Samir, small and frail, had legs twisted by polio.
Life had taken almost everything from them — but it left them each other.
And to them, that was enough. 🤝

Every day, Ahmed carried Samir on his back — not as a burden, but like a brother.
Because Samir was his legs, walking where Ahmed never could...
And Ahmed, in return, trusted Samir to be his eyes.
He would whisper what he saw — the shape of the stairs, the look on a stranger’s face, the color of the sky when the clouds finally cleared. ☁️👀
It was like watching the world through poetry, told in real time.

They earned their living selling beans in the market. 🫘
No begging. No complaints. Just work — quiet, honest, and filled with dignity.
People paused when they passed, not out of pity, but because something about them made the noise of the world fall silent for a moment.

One was Muslim. The other, Christian. ✝️☪️
But faith never divided them.
If anything, it bound them closer — two souls held together by kindness, not dogma.
Their “us” was stronger than any “either/or.”

But one day, Samir’s body gave out.
And with it, so did Ahmed’s will to keep going.

He stopped speaking.
Stopped eating.
And within days, he followed — not from illness, not from injury, but from a sorrow too deep to survive. 💔

They found him in the same room. Still. Peaceful. Quiet.

No wounds. No farewell.
Just a heart that couldn’t go on without its other half.
Because sometimes, love holds you up...
And when it’s gone, it takes you with it. 🕊️

Good morning. I had emergency eye surgery yesterday in Nashville. All went well, but i will be unable to go LIVE for a few days.
God is good.
Please read John 13:1-11
“Now before the feast of the passover, Jesus knowing that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own that were in the world, he loved them unto the end. And during supper, the devil having already put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him, Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he came forth from God, and goeth unto God, riseth from supper, and layeth aside his garments; and he took a towel, and girded himself. Then he poureth water into the basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded. So he cometh to Simon Peter. He saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet? Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt understand hereafter. Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me. Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head. Jesus saith to him, He that is bathed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all. For he knew him that should betray him; therefore said he, Ye are not all clean.”
