Father, as we enter into September, please bless the work of our hands.

Let this Tuesday bring progress and not stagnation.
Let me meet the right people.
Let me speak the right words.
Let me make wise decisions.
Let opportunities locate me.

If there is a blessing assigned to me this month,
may I not miss it.

If there is a door You have prepared for me,
may I have the courage to walk through it.

If there is a battle ahead of me,
go before me and fight for me.

Lord, give me the grace to begin this month with faith,
to walk through it with courage,
and to end it with thanksgiving.

I declare that September shall be a blessed month.

It shall be a month of grace.
A month of favour.
A month of divine protection.
A month of answered prayers.
A month of open doors.
A month of restoration.
A month of progress.

May the Lord bless me and keep me.
May the Lord make His face shine upon me and be gracious to me.
May the Lord lift up His countenance upon me and give me peace.

Lord, take control of this new day and this new month.

Everything I am,
everything I have,
and everything I hope for,
I place into Your loving hands.

September, I welcome you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Father Joseph T. Scanlin, affectionately known as Father Joe, entered eternal rest on July 9, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on April 20, 1951, in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, he was the beloved son of the late William F. and Madeleine F. Scanlin, formerly of 252 South 8th Street, Lebanon.

Today on Father’s Day, we pray for all fathers: those who are new dads, grieving a loss, or longing to become fathers. We also pray for husbands facing infertility, that they may be strengthened in their vocation to love.
