Day 4 of Holy Week
READ
Saturday was a strange, quiet day.
After Jesus died on the cross, His friends were so sad. They didn’t understand what was going to happen next. Friday was full of tears, and Sunday would be full of joy—but Saturday? Saturday was quiet.
This special day is called Holy Saturday. It was the day between the sadness of the cross and the happiness of the empty tomb. A day of waiting. A day of wondering. A day of hope.
Jesus’ friends didn’t know yet that something amazing was about to happen. All they could do was wait—and remember everything Jesus had said.
Have you ever had to wait for something? Like your birthday or a surprise trip? Or a grade on an important test? Waiting is hard, but it helps to slow down, be still, and trust that God is still working while we wait.
On Holy Saturday, we can think about how quiet the world felt without Jesus. But we also remember that God was working behind the scenes. Hope was on the way! So today, take a deep breath. Be still. Think about Jesus and all He’s done for you. The story is not over yet!
TALK
How do you think Jesus’ friends felt after He died?
What do you need to trust God about right now?
SAY
God is still working while I wait!
PRAY
Dear God, it can be so hard to wait! Please help us to trust that You are working, even when we can’t see it. Thank You for the miracle of Jesus’ death and resurrection. Amen.
