Lord, on this Mother’s Day we thank you for moms of every kind
The patient ones, the anxious ones, and the ones that are losing their mind.
We thank you for moms everywhere,
For all that they do and the love that they share.
For the ones who make sit down dinners, or the ones who feed on the run
The ones who get a dozen things done before we even see the sun.
For moms who can find the shoe nobody else could see,
Who balance the schedules, permission slips, appointments, and get everyone where they need to be.
For moms with babes who don’t sleep through the night,
For moms who everytime they turn around they are putting out a fight.
The moms chasing toddlers who always end up messy from their head to their toes
And for the moms raising teenagers - yeah, Lord, especially those.
For the moms who say, “Text me when you get there,”
Then look out the window and say another prayer.
For the moms who come loaded with hugs, snacks and grace
The one that can shoot you “The Look” right across her face.
We thank you for birth moms, stepmoms, and grandmas too,
For foster and adoptive moms who chose to love us all our days through.
For aunties and mentors and all those women who care,
Who show motherly love through listening and prayer.
For single moms juggling the job of four,
And for those moms who have lost a child they adore.
A child who may no longer be near,
But whose love still lives strong year after year.
For the women praying and hoping to be mom someday,
Bring them peace to the hard questions they quietly pray.
For those missing their own mom today,
Wishing for one more hug or one more day.
Wrap them in comfort and grace,
And let them feel loved in this place.
Lord, thank you for moms and all that they do
The cooking, the praying, the chauffeuring too.
For every packed lunch and every folded sock,
And the millions of times they have stepped on a block.
Lord, bless every mom here, in each age and stage.
Whether rocking a baby or those wiser with age.
May each one feel seen, appreciated, and celebrated too.
But most importantly let them feel completely loved by you.
