Teresa and Danny Allen founded Merry Hearts Ministries in 2005 after several years of traveling and singing with various gospel groups. One of the things they noticed while traveling was the lack of real joy in God’s house…the very place one would think you would find it the most. Their goal is to encourage people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to remind them that nowhere is Scripture does it
say…”thou shalt not laugh”! Danny and Teresa live in Benson, North Carolina and are blessed to be parents of two grown children and four beautiful grandchildren. Danny is a retired Johnston County Sheriff’s deputy and Teresa has served our state for over twenty years as a legal assistant assisting the victims of crime in the North Carolina court system. She currently is employed full-time in the Harnett County District Attorney’s office where she assists victims of domestic violence and various other violent crimes. One of Teresa’s greatest joys in ministry is to encourage others to lighten up and laugh…even at her expense. One of her favorite Bible verses is Proverbs 17:22 says “ a merry heart doeth good like a medicine…but a broken spirit dries up the bones”!
