First Friday Holy Hour at SHSF Church
First Saturday Mass and Adoration at St. John’s

Please plan to spend some time with Jesus at Adoration and plan to attend the next beautiful First Friday closing service on September 4 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at SHSF.

On Saturday, September 5 at 9:00 am at St. John’s, join us for a First Saturday Mass with Adoration and Confession to follow.

Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales has Eucharistic Adoration each Friday starting after the 9:00 a.m. Mass and ending at 8:00 p.m. This Friday we begin at 9:30 a.m.

St. John the Baptist Church has Eucharistic Adoration each Tuesday from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.

These two programs provide an opportunity to honor the Real Presence.

There was a time when fathers on television were actually worth looking up to. In the 1960s, we saw how Sheriff Andy Taylor raised Opie with amazing patience and a firm hand when necessary. Although the 1970s brought about an ever-growing hedonistic culture, Mike Brady of The Brady Bunch still commanded real respect, and his opinion genuinely mattered to his kids. Dads were portrayed as men who took their role seriously, and their families respected them for it.

Vermont Catholic Magazine: My mother decided I should have the middle name, Joseph, after Saint Joseph the Worker, whose feast day is May 1. She wasn’t certain how she and Dad could afford their fifth child, but she felt Saint Joseph would provide. Saint Joseph has remained a significant part of my spiritual life.

ROSARY AND MARIAN HYMNS AT MARY’S GARDEN

On Thursday, August 20th, in Mary’s Garden at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Fr. Romanus Igweonu, Parochial Vicar, led the recitation of the Rosary.

Hymns played and sung were “Our Lady of Knock”, “Immaculate Mary”, “Hail Holy Queen”, “O Sanctissima”, “Mary’s Song”, “Sing of Mary”, “Our Lady of Guadalupe” and “God Bless America”. Cynthia McAdoo, Marianne Campbell, and Henry Simpatico provided the music.
