Sulphur Springs UMC Celebrating discipleship of Christ through the Native American United Methodist churches of the Oklahoma Indian Missionary Conference

02/05/2022

Sulphur Springs UMC is on the move! Was donated a huge sum of $ for repairs. Our district supervisors have ignored our needs. This person has never been to our church but felt the urgent need to help. Work for restoration will begin as soon as possible as weather permits. A new ceiling, serious water problem . We have a few volunteers who have committed to this cause, but need more. If you want to be in this historical event to help this church come back to life call Jeanie Rich @ 580-208-0912. The Lord is with us and you can be too. Bless you through Christ. (JR)

Had another blessed service at Sulphur Springs UMC. The message continues about getting to know the twelve disciples of Jesus. What we can learn about why Jesus chose these men to drop everything and follow Him. He has chosen us also to follow and spread the word of the love he has for us. We can't mix our own personal lives with His plans to use us as his disciples to go forth and not look back. Concentrate and focus on what our Lord, Jesus Christ asks of us. Have an awesome blessed week. ✝️. (Jr)

We had our Indian Taco sale last Saturday, September 18th under a pavilion at a ball park in Durant Oklahoma. It was a very successful event. We had so many volunteers and helpers. Without these people who believed we could build our church back up, it would have been very difficult. We especially want to thank Andrea Yellowfish and her sisters for making the big, fluffy frybread! They set up their own portable cook burners and went to work real early. It was a hot day, but aside from the discomfort, labor and sweat, we all came together as one team. I could feel God over us, giving us the strength and endurance we needed to accomplish our task to make the money for the church repairs. We also want to thank everyone who came out and bought a taco and gave extra for the cause. We were blessed with $766. We still have a long way to go and will plan another fundraiser soon. God bless each one of you! (Jr)

Another service at Sulphur Springs UMC this morning. Eight in attendance. The Ife and times of John the Apostle. How we can learn to be disciples of Christ from the first twelve. Had an awesome fellowship, tears, laughter and all our love for one another. Testimonies, songs and prayers for the homeless and sick. Left with a cleansing of our souls and eager to spend the coming week spreading the word of Jesus Christ, our Lord.✝️. (JR)

We continued to get to know the first twelve. Today we got to know James, son of Zebedee. The Holy Spirit was definitely with us today because we are the new age disciples of Jesus, .....we follow Him. Prayers for the sick, disabled, the ones who are still in doubt. Even people we don't know, we prayed for you. We still request prayers for us and our church. Have a blessed week and help people in need. Your heart will rejoice and sing with happiness because the Lord put His hands on you. ✝️. (JR)

Working and cleaning our fellowship building today. Want to thank James Turnbough for spending the day helping Jeanie Cole Rich move all the lumber and sweeping up trash and debri from when the ceiling fell through. Electricity is turned back on but it was still a little hot inside even running two of the a/c window units. Took a break and had sandwiches, chips and cold drinks for lunch.A few other people showed up and was greatly appreciated. Thank you, Monica Blaine for helping and taking these pictures. We'll be able to look back on this after all the repairs get done and know we are blessed. Thank you Dear Lord for giving us the strength to do Your work and for the church.✝️. (JR)

Had an awesome service this morning, on a series of getting to know the personalities and characters of the twelve disciples. We're having to worship out doors under our pavilion because the church still need repairs but we're going to raise the money and repair it ourselves with the Lord's help and guidance. Keep Sulphur Springs in Bennington Oklahoma in your prayers. ✝️

Had a second service today. 11 in attendance. Speaker was Jeanie Rich. An awesome fellowship with family and friends under the pavilion. And of course, a very delicious lunch. Short meeting and updates on plans for fundraisers to help repair the church. The message was going back to our childhood and the meaning of being a child of God. We will be still and listen and obey! God bless everyone and continue praying for Sulphur Springs UMC. (JR)

The church had it's first service last Sunday, July, 18,2021 after being unactive for almost 2 years. The church and fellowship building is still in need of repair so we had service under the pavilion. Had 9 in attendance and had a good offering giving. God called on us and said it is time. We are ready to get to work and rebuild. Keep praying that God's will, be done for Sulphur Springs UMC. (JR)

Had a wonderful service this morning! 8 God loving people came to worship Him, praise Him and be thankful and blessed. The Holy Spirit was in all our hearts and shared love for one another family and brothers and sisters in Christ. The message was about changes in our lives good and mostly bad, accept it all;... and pray for strength to carry it through all the tough times. God never changes! Hebrews 13:8. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Romans 8:38-39 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels not demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything in all creation, will be able separate us from the love of God, that is in Jesus Christ, our Lord. (JR)
