PAUSE IN HIS PRESENCE: ROMANS 8:38-39

"For I am sure that neither death nor life, not angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from The Love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Paul gives us one of the greatest assurances in all of Scripture: Nothing can separate the believer from The Love of God that is in Christ Jesus!

Notice the words, "neither death nor life." Whether we are facing our greatest fear or enjoying our greatest blessing, God's Love remains constant! "Neither angels nor rulers" reminds us that no spiritual power or authority is greater than God's Love and Purpose for us! "Neither things present nor things to come" means we don't have to fear today, and we don't have to be anxious about tomorrow. God's Love is already there! And Paul concludes with "nor anything else in all creation." That includes everything we can imagine and everything we cannot.

Our circumstances may change. Our feelings may change. People may change. But God's Love does not ever change! Yay God!

"Nothing can separate us from The Love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord!"

PAUSE IN HIS PRESENCE: ROMANS 8:35-37

"Who shall separate us from The Love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written, "For Your Sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered." No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him Who Loved us."

God never says that Christians will avoid suffering. He says, "in all these things (tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, danger, and the sword) we are more than conquerors through Him Who Loved us." Yay God!

Our victory is not found in having an easy life. Our Victory is found in Jesus being with us and loving us through everything we face! The circumstances may be difficult, but they cannot overcome God's Love!

Today: Pause to remember: "I may be pressed, but I am not abandoned! I may suffer, but I am still loved! I may face difficulty, but through Jesus, I am more than a conqueror!"

PAUSE IN HIS PRESENCE: ROMANS 8:31-34

"What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He Who did not spare His Own Son but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also give us all things? Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God Who Justifies. Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is The One Who died - more than that, Who was raised - Who is at The Right Hand of God, Who indeed is interceding for us."

Simple Gospel Truth: If God is for us, we have nothing to fear from anyone or anything that comes against us!

God has already proven His Love by giving His Son, Jesus, for us! If God didn't withhold Jesus from us, we can trust Him with everything else we face! When we fail, Jesus doesn't stand against us - He stands for us! He died for us, was raised for us, and now intercedes for us!

So when the enemy whispers, "You are not good enough," remember: God chose you, Jesus died for you, and Jesus is interceding for you! When circumstances say, "You are alone," remember: God is with you and God is for you! When fear says, "You won't make it," remember: God is for you!

Today, don't focus on who or what is against you. Focus on Who is for you! God is for you!

PAUSE IN HIS PRESENCE: ROMANS 8:31

"What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?"

When you know God is for you, you don't have to live afraid of everything that is against you! People may reject you. Circumstances may overwhelm you. The enemy may accuse you. Your own heart may condemn you. But none of those voices has the final word. GOD does!

And His Word in Romans 8 begins with "No condemnation" for those who are in Christ (8:1), and ends with "No separation" from The Love of God in Christ Jesus (8:39)! Paul invited us to stop measuring the size of our opposition and start measuring The Greatness of God!

If God is for you, you are never facing anything alone - nothing that comes against us can ultimately separate us from Him! Yay God!

PAUSE IN HIS PRESENCE: ISAIAH 5:20

"Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!"

We live in a world where truth is increasingly determined by what people feel, what culture accepts, or what seems right in their own eyes. Isaiah warns us of a dangerous spiritual condition: "calling evil good and good evil."

Notice that God says, "woe." This isn't just a warning about bad behavior. It is a warning about reversing God's Moral Order. The problem begins when we stop allowing God's Word to define good and evil. When God's Truth becomes uncomfortable, we are tempted to redefine it. Sin becomes "freedom." Holiness becomes "judgmental." Biblical Conviction becomes "intolerance." And Obedience to God can be seen as the problem rather than the answer. But God's Truth does not change because culture changes.

God doesn't ask His people to determine what is good by popular opinion. He calls us to know His Word, to love what He calls Good, to reject what He calls evil, and to courageously live in alignment with His Truth! So when the world calls good evil and evil good, don't become angry and bitter. Let us become more faithful! Know The Truth! Stand on The Truth! Live The Truth! And Speak The Truth in Love! And above all, keep your eyes upon Jesus, Who is "The Way, and The Truth, and The Life (John 14:6)." Yay God!

PAUSE IN HIS PRESENCE: PSALM 33:18-22

"Behold, The Eye of The Lord is on those who fear Him, on those who hope in His Steadfast Love, that He may deliver their soul from death and keep them alive in famine. Our soul waits for The Lord; He is our Help and our Shield. For our heart is glad in Him, because we trust in His Holy Name. Let Your Steadfast Love, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in You."

It is my strong conviction that every time we hear or read God's Word, His Spirit within us, quietly speaks, "Where are you?" Are you looking intently at Jesus? Do you rightfully fear God? Is your hope solely on His Steadfast Love or something else? Are you enjoying God or enduring God?

The Psalmist reminds us that God sees those who fear Him, God delivers those who trust Him, and God's Steadfast Love rests upon those who hope in Him! Our circumstances may change, our strength may fail, and the future may be uncertain, but God's Character never changes!

Lord Jesus, let Your Love be greater than our fears, Your Faithfulness greater than our circumstances, and our Hope greater than our uncertainty!

Let us: Look Up, Wait Well, and Trust Completely - because The God Who created us is also The God Who watches over us! Yay God!

PAUSE IN HIS PRESENCE: PSALM 28:6-9

"Blessed be The Lord! For He has heard the voice of my pleas for mercy. The Lord is my Strength and my Shield; in Him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to Him. The Lord is The Strength of His people; He is The Saving Refuge of His anointed. Oh, Save Your people and Bless Your Heritage! Be their Shepherd and carry them forever."

What an incredible picture of when Prayer meets The Faithfulness of God! David begins the psalm crying for help, but by verse 6, his cry has become his Praise! David reminds us that God hears the voice of His children! Our confidence in prayer comes from knowing God hears us! Prayer is never wasted when it is directed toward God!

We are reminded that faith turns fear into confidence! Notice the progression: Declaring "The Lord is my Strength" -> "I trust Him" -> "I am helped" -> "I enjoy being His" -> "Praise The Lord!" David's circumstances may not have instantly changed, but his heart changed because he remembered Who God was!

And we are reminded that praise is the response of a trusting heart! Let us be reminded today: The God Who hears your cry is The God Who becomes your Strength, Shields you from the enemy, Shepherds you through the Valley, and Carries you all the way Home! Yay God!

PAUSE IN HIS PRESENCE: JOHN 14:6

"Jesus said to him, "I Am The Way, and The Truth, and The Life. No one comes to The Father except through Me."

We live in a world where truth is often treated as something relative - something we can determines for ourselves. But Jesus didn't say, "I know the truth" or "I can show you the way" or "I can show you truth." He made the extraordinary claim: "I Am The Truth."

Truth is not just a set of facts or principles. Truth is found in the Person, Jesus Christ! Jesus reveals what God is really like! Jesus said, "Whoever has seen Me has seen The Father (John 14:9)." If we want to know what God is like, we look at Jesus! His Compassion, Holiness, Grace, Justice, Mercy, and Sacrificial Love reveal the heart of The Father! Jesus is the clearest picture God has given us of Himself!

Jesus exposes the lies we believe! The enemy's strategy from the beginning has been deception. Satan questioned God's Word and distorted God's Character. Jesus is The Source of Defense against all deception! He brings us back to reality and Truth! Jesus calls for faith, surrender, and obedience. He isn't simply asking us to agree that He is true. He is calling us to trust Him as Truth Himself!

PAUSE IN HIS PRESENCE: JOHN 10:10

"The thief only comes to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly."

"The thief" is the serpent in Genesis, the enemy of our soul, the devil, satan, the adversary, the liar - however you refer to the enemy of your soul, you need to realize that he only comes to steal and kill and destroy.

The thief comes only to steal God's Word from getting rooted, to steal our joy in Jesus, to steal our peace with God, to steal our confidence in God, and to steal our freedom in Christ. The thief comes only to kill our spiritual passion and affection for Jesus, to kill our witness, and to kill our relationships with other believers. The thief comes only to destroy our sense of purpose in serving Jesus, to destroy our testimony, and to destroy our effectiveness for The Kingdom of God.

But here is the Good News: Jesus came to give us life and life overflowing with God! As a believer in Jesus, the enemy cannot steal and kill and destroy our Salvation! Jesus secured it! The enemy cannot steal and kill and destroy our Adoption as a child of God! God has chosen, and called us His! The enemy cannot steal and kill and destroy our right standing before God! Jesus paid the full price of our redemption and salvation! The enemy cannot steal and kill and destroy God's Love for us! God's Love is Steadfast and Faithful! God is Love! The enemy cannot steal and kill and destroy The Holy Spirit's Seal on us! God has already Promised that what He started, He will finish! Yay God! And the enemy cannot steal and kill and destroy our Eternal Inheritance!

Let us stand firm in our faith - Choosing today to live as God's Beloved Children and not as spiritual orphans!
