Please join us in prayer for West Virginia, as heavy rain caused severe flash flooding across the state on Tuesday, damaging roads, homes, businesses, and critical infrastructure. We pray especially for those unaccounted for and those who have lost their homes and livelihoods.

UMCOR is responding through a solidarity grant to the West Virginia Conference of The United Methodist Church, which will support their immediate relief efforts, including Early Response Team (ERT) deployment, relief supply distribution, debris removal, and addressing the immediate needs of impacted communities.

Join us in prayer for Puerto Rico, as drought conditions, combined with issues from dated infrastructure, have led to water shortages and emergency water rationing measures across the island.

In response, UMCOR has awarded a solidarity grant to ReHace IMPR, our partner related to the Methodist Church of Puerto Rico, as they offer immediate relief, including:
-Safe drinking water and water storage containers.
-Emergency food assistance.
-Hygiene and cleaning kits.
-Flashlights, batteries, and other essential emergency supplies.
-Direct assistance to older adults, people with disabilities, families with children, and other vulnerable populations affected by prolonged water and power interruptions.

As this drought continues to worsen, we stand ready to offer additional support to REHACE as they aid and assist vulnerable Puerto Ricans.

Join us in prayer for the people of Texas who experienced another deadly flash flooding event this week. Additional rainfall today is expected to worsen flooding in the hardest-hit areas.

We pray especially for the loved ones of those who have lost their lives, and for the communities that are still recovering from last year’s devastating floods.

UMCOR is responding through a solidarity grant to the Rio Texas Annual Conference, which will support their efforts to meet the immediate needs of those impacted.

We remain in close communication with Rio Texas, and stand ready to offer additional support as they continue to walk with communities recovering from disasters across the state.
