REPOST.
The wisdom of the fathers
THE RENEWING OF THE MIND [NOUS] Part 1

Our mind is enlightened at the time we are saved. Often we assume that a new heart is enough for us, not knowing that the Bible says our mind needs to be renewed too. Even though our mind becomes new at regeneration, has it been renewed forever afterwards? I am afraid the mind of many saved ones has not been renewed. Things remain the same as before the conversion.

I must say frankly that the thoughts in many believers today are not very different from that of sinners. How frequently I have the feeling that though the spirit and the heart of many believers are new, their mind lacks renewal and act like that of sinners. How can a believer expect to be of any use in God's hand if his mind has not been renewed? Our mind must not only be new but also be daily renewed.

Today's defect lies here: at the moment we are saved we receive a tremendous revelation, yet after being saved our mind is not renewed. Salvation becomes the greatest revelation of our lives, but do we continuously receive other great revelations subsequently? I am afraid many do not have any further great revelations after that of salvation. The revelation of salvation is without question the greatest revelation in life for it brings us into eternity; but do we experience other new revelations?

Repost:
If God is merciful to us and we have such an experience of separation, we will conduct business and move around in our outer man, but our inner man will be unmoved.

One person moves around, while the other person is still before God. The outer man will only mind the outward things, and the outward things will stop with the outer man; they will not get to the inner man.

Those who know God apply the outer man to outward affairs while their inner man remains in God. The two men do not mix.

They are like Brother Lawrence, who was busy with outward affairs, yet who had another person within him who lived before God. God’s presence never went away in him.

This can save us much time in our work. Many people do not have this separation of the outer man from the inner man. As a result, their whole being moves away at one time, and then they move their whole being back later.

Many people face difficulties with their work because their inner man tags along with their outer man. If the inner man is separated from the outer man and remains untouched while the outer man is involved in business, many outward things will be properly handled. This kind of exercise will isolate us from the influence of the flesh through outward things; they will no longer touch our inner being.

Simply put, whether or not man’s spirit can be useful to God depends on two kinds of work of the Lord. One work is the breaking of our outer man. The other work is the separating of our spirit from our soul or the dividing of our inner man from our outer man. God must accomplish these two things in us before we can put our spirit to use.

The breaking of the outer man is accomplished through the discipline of the Holy Spirit, and the separation of the outer man from the inner man is through the revelation of the Holy Spirit.

James 3:11-18
The Message

7-10 This is scary: You can tame a tiger, but you can’t tame a tongue—it’s never been done. The tongue runs wild, a wanton killer. With our tongues we bless God our Father; with the same tongues we curse the very men and women he made in his image. Curses and blessings out of the same mouth!

10-12 My friends, this can’t go on. A spring doesn’t gush fresh water one day and brackish the next, does it? Apple trees don’t bear strawberries, do they? Raspberry bushes don’t bear apples, do they? You’re not going to dip into a polluted mud hole and get a cup of clear, cool water, are you?
Live Well, Live Wisely

13-16 Do you want to be counted wise, to build a reputation for wisdom? Here’s what you do: Live well, live wisely, live humbly. It’s the way you live, not the way you talk, that counts. Mean-spirited ambition isn’t wisdom. Boasting that you are wise isn’t wisdom. Twisting the truth to make yourselves sound wise isn’t wisdom. It’s the furthest thing from wisdom—it’s animal cunning, devilish plotting. Whenever you’re trying to look better than others or get the better of others, things fall apart and everyone ends up at the others’ throats.

17-18 Real wisdom, God’s wisdom, begins with a holy life and is characterized by getting along with others. It is gentle and reasonable, overflowing with mercy and blessings, not hot one day and cold the next, not two-faced. You can develop a healthy, robust community that lives right with God and enjoy its results only if you do the hard work of getting along with each other, treating each other with dignity and hono

Alexander Stekelenburg

There are many spirits that seek to infiltrate the church.
The first is the 'hyper-grace spirit'. This spirit teaches that you no longer have to repent when there is sin or that you do not have to ask forgiveness when mistakes have been made. Some who have been infected by this also believe that hell no longer exists.

The second is the 'humanistic woke spirit'. It places man at the center, rather than God and His Word. Everything must always feel good, and those who are infected by this spirit are often people who become caught up in the pastoral care and seeker friendly messages. Pastoral care is important, but many problems that people have do not disappear through talking, but through deliverance!

The third is what I call the 'transgender spirit'. This spirit causes leaders and ministries switch identities. Everyone wants to be an apostle these days. I call it Apostolic Madness. This happens because one cannot distinguish between the apostolic office and the apostolic spirit or mentality that you receive when you receive input from apostles. When you switch identities, you confuse yourself and others, and you block God's ministry favor. True fulfillment is not found in titles, but in who you are in God and walking in your own identity. Favor, joy, and fruitfulness come when you are humble and when you are in Line with God's Design.

The fourth is a 'bitter spirit'. These are the ones who have been disappointed in the church or leadership, and because they hold on to it they have become bitter. The result is that they throw the baby out with the bathwater and rebel against everything related to authority. These are the critical lone rangers who want you to believe that all leaders have wrong motives! Keep them far away from you so that you too may not be affected by them.

The 5th is the 'religious spirit'. This spirit always wants to stick with the old and is not open to moving with God and for the new things of the Lord. It does not believe in the message of life and abundance and keeps people small, sick, and poor!
