Belton Area Friends: Do You or Someone You Know Need Home Repairs?
This summer, a group of youth and adult volunteers from U.M. ARMY (United in Mission: Action Reach-out Ministry by Youth) will be staying at Belton First United Methodist Church for a week of service in our community.
U.M. ARMY is a Christ-centered mission organization that provides free assistance to homeowners in need, especially those who may not have the resources or ability to complete repairs on their own.
We are currently looking for potential service projects in the Belton area.
Our teams can help with things like:
• Building or repairing wheelchair ramps, steps, handrails, and porches, fence
• Painting (interior or exterior)
• Minor home repairs (floors, drywall, siding, etc.)
• Yard work and cleanup (including to address code violations)
• Small accessibility or safety improvements
We are also available to help at local nonprofits such as shelters or food banks (either with standard volunteer roles or with improvements to buildings/facilities)
A few important notes:
• All work is done free of charge by volunteers. These volunteer teams will largely be comprised of youth and supervised and led by adults.
• Projects are selected based on need, scope, and available teams
• We focus on minor repairs and manageable projects (we are not able to do electrical, plumbing, or major construction work)
• Homes should be owner-occupied and can not be rentals
If you, or someone you know, could benefit from this kind of help, we would love to hear from you.
Please send all project requests or referrals to:
