Am I losing my mind?

During normal periods, pregnant mothers turn to EFRAT to help them give birth to their children when they have no support. With the instability of war, already challenging circumstances become even more precarious.

Evelina from Ashkelon, recounts:

"Ten months ago, I turned to you when I realized I was pregnant. The rest of my family thought I was crazy for continuing.

From the beginning, you supported my decision not to abort the pregnancy despite my partner abandoning me. When the war began, I thought that I was going to lose my mind. Between the unending rocket fire, struggling to keep calm taking care of my other kids, running to the safe room (thank g-d we have one, but still), and my late stage Braxton Hicks contractions in the ninth month, I didn’t think I’d be able to hold onto my sanity.

Luckily, you were there for me, and not just with food packages. You listened to my ranting and raving about the war, how impossible it felt to stay in Ashkelon under the circumstances, how hard it was to do it all without anyone else helping, feeling so, so alone.

You always were there with a shoulder to lean on, often as I cried non-stop.

Thank you for not letting me collapse and surrender to the madness.

I have never felt so proud to be a mom to this wonderful daughter of mine, and to my beautiful sons. I received your package after I gave birth, filled with a beautiful new crib and stroller, clothing, diapers, and even bottles and pacifiers.

I feel loved and because of that, I feel powerful and capable.

This is how Israel responds to terror.
We unite in hope.

In the midst of great tragedy and sadness this post from Meir Panim made my heart smile. This picture is a reminder of what God has allowed Greg and I to participate in. We volunteered at Meir Panim with a great group of Christians in 2019. Greg asked about the tarps that hung overhead that were tattered and torn. When we returned to the USA we reached out to our church, travel group, friends and family to raise money to replace the tarps. As you can see we were able to replace the tarps with this wonderful metal roof. They put up a plaque in honor of our group and church for supporting them in this way. Who knew that it would be used now to help in the war effort. Thank you Meir Panim for the work you are doing, especially at the food distribution area in Or Akiva. Thank you to all of our friends that helped support this metal roof at Meir Panim. Please keep the nation in your prayers. This is a great organization for those that are interested in donating “For such a time as this”

In Or Akiva, where many displaced families from the Gaza adjacent communities are staying, our team cooked Shabbat meals for anyone that they knew about.

They cooked both for families staying on their own and for those being hosted by family and friends- of course, enough meals for both the visitors and host families, something we can do to make life easier for our hosts who are doing so much.

Of course we included Challahs and Grape Juice.
A full Shabbat to go in a bag, made and given with ❤️.

There is a dangerous trend silently sweeping the world today: Holocaust misinformation. Many people don’t know what happened in the Holocaust—and some even think Jewish people were responsible for it!
