Paul had a boy fall out the window and die while he preached into the night. Paul went down rose the boy from the dead and went back to preaching throughout the night.
Where are the Pauls that are unphased by the trauma and drama. The ones that pull people into their realm of steadiness with God instead of being pulled into everyone else's panic and chaos. This is how i interpret it...Paul told the spirit of sorrow, "Not tonight i have a word in my belly, rise up child, you need to hear this!"

The other day i watched a behind the scenes on the making of House of David. It intrigued me on how the director and the guy who played david talked about working with a real herd of sheep. Whats hilarious to me and also ministers to me as a pastor was that they said the most frustrating and irritating thing about filming the whole production was the herd of literal sheep. They were chaotic, continually going where they shouldnt, mistreated the actor playing David. The guy playing David said "the sheep literally hated me." The director would get a shot he needed and the sheep would walk right into it. Out of all the things the director could have complained about and that could have gone wrong in a huge production like this, was really not to my surprise "the sheep".
The guy playing David was shunned by the sheep, and he had to get a lamb of his own to hang out with everyday because none of the sheep even liked him.

I actually lived by a herd a sheep in my backyard at one time. I was taught a lot by watching the sheep. They didnt graze like cattle. Cattle are slow and move together and have more sense to their grazing. Sheep are the most chaotic grazers i have ever seen. They zigzag across fields and try to outrun others and lead other people off. They are loud and just everywhere. Until they lay down to rest and its the most peaceful thing you have ever seen without any of them making a peep.

You better thank God for the shepherds that are still there, still hanging with you, still doing all they can to put up with the chaos and mistreatment. You better thank God they dont just dart off the field and leave you for the wolves. You need to appreciate the shepherd willing to endure the zigzags and loud bleating, and the running off every few minutes. Cause it takes a special person to endure it and especially to endure it for decades and still want to do it. Sheep arent easy creatures to be around, to watch out for, or to lead. Some of these poor shepherds are really hurting, really tired, really wondering if it was at all worth it. You better pray for the shepherd that God gave you and start being a good little sheep instead of a chaotic one. Go hug your pastor and start appreciating that they have cared even when you didnt.

We gloss over how God made moses, Jacob, Joseph, and many others deal with their past.

Moses went back to the place where he murdered someone, where he was rejected and demoted, and had to face where he fled. He had to enter back into the place where he was content staying away from. He had to go back to what he ran way from to fulfill his great calling.

Jacob had to deal with the brother he wronged, the very one he hid from for 20 years. The past that made him fearful. The very place he kept delaying returning back to. He had to push through his wrestling and obey the voice of the Lord. God was calling him back home and went through a lot inwardly and outwardly because he fought returning.

Joseph had to face his past, the place where others did him wrong. The painful past where he was stripped of everything he loved and desired. Joseph couldn't just move on and make a great future in Egypt he wasn't whole until he faced his brethren that harmed him. He had to face the brothers that walked away like Reuben, and the Simeon's that wanted him dead, and the Judah's that sold him out. He had to face the Issachar's that went along with it. The Dan's that never spoke up. The Levites that were silent. Joseph had to face his past before he got a future with Jacob his daddy.

God isn't about just flourishing you, but HE is longing for you to heal from what once broke you. He is longing for you to face what you were once terrified of. You cant just bury your past it was a part of you and it must be faced and dealt with to move into greater restorations.

Many are wanting deep restorations but wont deal with the wounds, wont return back where it once hurt. Wont humble themselves to go back where they left. Or visit where they fled. They wont deal with why they ran, or why they wrestled, or whats still laying in their soul. God wants to heal us but there are things we must fix, humbling that must take place, and people and places we must return back to.

All these people saw great restorations because they dealt with the past, they allowed God to heal them, and they moved with God instead of moving with frustration, fear, and flesh!
