September 24 at 1030am at 18320 5th street Beloit. Help us celebrate the last 50 years of service. Pastor White missed this by nearly 10 months, but his ministry is continuing on. If you need a ride to attend please contact us. We will have a gift for all that attend and we will have refreshments after the service. Pastor Whites son , Rick White will be giving the message and we will have special music.
Let us remember how this all started, Pastor James White and his wife were called to the ministry when they were saved July 5,1964. Pastor started in Atwater with a bus ministry but felt he could do more.
Pastor White was a young boy that grew up with a strong work ethic and quit school and went to work at 16. When he decided to enter the ministry he had to finish high school and move his family of 6 children, at the time,to Michigan, where he worked and attended school full time. This was no easy task for a farm boy/truck driver. He took extra classes so he could finish college early. Pastor was working at a gas station barely making enough money to support a family of 6, but God had a bigger plan. God sent a man one night who needed help fixing his car. Pastor stayed after closing and fixed the car. That man came back and gave him a good job that would provide for his family and work around his college. God provided!!
Pastor and his family started in Sebring high school then moved to a few buildings before building. Pastor White and his wife made a bid on a farm in Beloit with hopes of building a church there. Their bid was accepted but they did not have the 10% cash needed for the down payment. Pastor prayed about the needed cash and a check was received in the mail. God does hear our prayers and He provides!!
Pastor Whites desire was to start a large bus ministry. Dennis Eash, Warren Wade, Roy barringer, George Miller , Jerry yeagley, Jack Haines,Ed Kuhle and Keith Mcelfresh and many other drivers and helpers made this bus ministry possible. They’d pack the buses and would have competitions to see who brought in the most. Prizes were given weekly . You’d hear the buses drive in the parking lot singing loudly. Pastor loved Sunday mornings when all the loud kids would run in to the church. He knew that the bus kids would shape the churches future. He shared his bus ministry with other pastors. He’d buy and fix up buses and give them to other pastors so they could bring in kids. He wanted to help all churches have a bus ministry. Pastor knew how important the children were for the future
Pastors white and his wife would knock on doors to bring in new faces. Pastor white never met a stranger. Pastor witnessed to everyone he spoke to( even bill collectors or cops pulling him over for speeding haha) .Pastor white donated the last 49 years of his life to winning souls. He was honored 4 years ago and was given his doctorate in theology. He has been sought to preach for his vast knowledge of the Bible. This was a huge accomplishment to a boy that quit high school. Pastor white was not a perfect man, he made mistakes just like you and I, but he tried always to magnify the Lord. This is proof God was in his accomplishment.
It’s sad that Pastor White missed his 50th year, but we can raise our voices and let him hear us rejoicing. Come join us tomorrow. Let us remember all the people that came through these doors. We would love ❤️ to see you. We will have snacks and lunch after the service .
We are not just honoring Dr. Pastor Whites 50 years of service, we are honoring each person that has come through the doors and walked the aisle. Pastor White is the reason for the 50 years, but it could only happen with the support of our church family. The church is still standing and running because of the people that attend. Let us remember each of the souls saved!! We will try broadcasting Facebook video live for service … if it does not go live the recording will be made later tomorrow.
