St. John Cantius, ora pro nobis! I admire your life... the simplicity and normalcy. I long for a simple life. I long for a life that is centered on God and Family. On worship and sacrament. I admire you for this in your life!

I would have loved to hear your homilies, taken classes with you in Theology and Philosophy, and gleaned important lessons about discipline and austerity from you.

Today is such a great day of rejoicing! One year ago, December 22, 2020, I returned home to be with my family after my 25-day stay in the Intensive Care Unit, a flight-for-life and hospital transfer, and near-death experience battling the virus.

I'm actually grateful for the journey that God has taken us on. It has been very difficult. The trauma that we've all been through has been hard to overcome. However, by God's grace, we are all still here and kicking!

To my wife, on this anniversary, please know how in love with you that I am. Thank you for standing by my side and doing all that you do, but most of all for being who you are. I love you.

As a lesson for the day and every day, my encouragement to all men is to live rightly. Although I was dying in the hospital, I wasn't scared. I was ready to die. I was alive in the grace of God and had He taken me, I was confident in sacramental grace. Are you?

St. Peter Canisius, ora pro nobis! St. Peter, thank you for your faithfulness and courage as you battled again the Protestant Revolt! As a Catholic Reformer, you worked hard to save the Truth and promote the proper living of the Truth. I would have loved to be in your courses, heard you speak, or to have witnessed one of your debates.

Thank you for your writings and your words as a Doctor of the Church. May we also be inspired by your work with the poor and uneducated.

May your influence continue to guide those who would turn away from Christ and His Church, and may there be a reform among the hearts of those clergy who have gone astray, especially in your order.

St. Dominic of Silos, ora pro nobis! St. Dominic, you were faithful from a young age. Please intercede on behalf of all young men, that they may have a fervent and strong faith like yours.

And thank you for your healing of the woman, Joan of Aza, whose son that you foretold would become "the other" St. Dominic (de Guzman) and founder of the Order of Preachers (The Dominicans).

May your faithfulness also transfer over to our bishops who are so badly in need of intercession. May they all have daily conversion and undertake their Episcopal Office with dignity, virtue, and love.
