Holy Cross Armenian Catholic Church

Holy Cross Armenian Catholic Church Serving Armenian Catholics in the Greater Boston/New England since 1940. Current Pastor, Rev. Fr. Ghazar (Lazarus) Bedros. Bishop is Mikaël Mouradian, Eparch.

01/12/2026

In this Sunday’s homily, Rev. Fr. Ghazar reflects on Mark 1:1–13, the powerful beginning of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This reflection invites each of us to look honestly at our spiritual life and to ask essential questions:
• Are you searching for the true meaning of your life?
• Do you truly know God, or only know about Him?
• Why do we go to church on Sunday?
• How well are you spiritually prepared to defend yourself against temptation and evil?

The homily explores five key themes:
1. The Beginning of the Good News – God always takes the first step toward us.
2. Preaching Repentance – Opening our hearts to God’s mercy and healing love.
3. Baptism – The first sacrament that gives us a new identity as children of God.
4. Baptism Leads to Mission and Struggle – Following Christ means both grace and spiritual combat.
5. A Message from Our Blessed Mother at Lourdes – A call to conversion, prayer, and trust in God.

This reflection encourages every believer to rediscover the grace of Baptism, to live Sunday as a sacred encounter with God, and to grow stronger in faith amid life’s challenges.

🙏 May this homily help you renew your relationship with Christ and deepen your spiritual journey.

Epiphany Sunday Homily – January 4, 2026 | Rev. Fr. Ghazar (Lazarus) Bedrossian

In this video, Rev. Fr. Ghazar offers a spiritual reflection on the Homily for Epiphany Sunday (January 4, 2026), based on the Gospel of Matthew 2:1–12, which recounts the visit of the Magi to the newborn Christ.

The homily focuses on the three gifts presented to Jesus—Gold, Frankincense, and Myrrh—and explores their deep spiritual and theological meanings:
• Gold, symbolizing Christ’s kingship
• Frankincense, pointing to His divinity and priesthood
• Myrrh, foreshadowing His suffering, death, and saving mission

Through this reflection, Fr. Ghazar invites the faithful to contemplate how the Epiphany reveals Christ not only to the Magi, but to all nations, calling each of us to offer our own gifts of faith, worship, and love.

📖 “They saw the child with Mary his mother, and they knelt down and paid him homage.” (Mt 2:11)

May this homily deepen your understanding of the Epiphany and inspire you to walk faithfully in the light of Christ.
