Saturday, March 18th we had our final class social with a road trip to Newman’s Castle in Bellville, TX.
This was an interesting and fun experience, and it’s apparently a widely known semi local adventure destination.
We had about 15 in attendance with our class group, and estimated 120+ touring the facility while we were there.
The working trebuchet (catapult) was cool to see it in action.
The owner, Mike Newman, actually built this entire facility (as his home) starting in 1998 and continues to add to it even now.
Only two of us were adventurous enough to climb to the top of the bell tower, which was a bit of a challenge but well worth it for the view and photographs.
We (our class) want to say a huge Thank You to Christi Williams for being our social coordinator over the past 3 years and coming up with many unique and fun events for us to share in fellowship. She has done a wonderful job and served us very well, and always with a smile.
We also thank Angie Manahan for coordinating our socials the first two years of our class, and providing fun outings then too.
