Are we making church more about our personal preferences than about the people who need Jesus? 🤔

It’s easy to treat faith like a consumer experience—focusing on our favorite styles, music, or comfort zones. But in 1 Corinthians 14:20-25, the Apostle Paul challenges us to grow up in our faith and look at things differently.

When we prioritize a "worship show" or get caught up in our own insider language, we build invisible walls that alienate the outside world. But when we live and speak the Gospel with clarity, order, and love, walls come down and lives are truly transformed.

The truth is, we all preach a sermon every single day by how we treat our families, lead our children, and interact with our coworkers. The question is: Which gospel are we preaching?

What happens when our church experience becomes more about our pers...

Are we striving for individual experiences, or are we working to build up the people around us? This past Sunday, we looked at 1st Corinthians 14:1-19 and how the Apostle Paul challenged the church in Corinth regarding how they used their spiritual gifts. It turns out that God never intended for our worship to be a solo flight—He designed it to build up the entire body of Christ.

Using lessons on translation from mission work in Colombia, alongside Paul’s vivid metaphors of musical instruments and military bugles, we explored what it means to live out a "Whole Mind Faith." God doesn't call us to a faith that is purely intellectual or purely emotional. When He captures both our logical minds and our hearts, it transforms how we love and serve the people right next to us.

Our community needs to see a faith that is full, well-rounded, and active. Let's be a people who are intellectually honest and curious, yet deeply moved with compassion for the hurting.
