TOGETHER ANYTHING’S POSSIBLE

Part 3: Jesus and We and Generosity

“Remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” Acts 20:35

“The one who is faithful in a very little thing is also faithful in much; and the one who is unrighteous in a very little thing is also unrighteous in much. Therefore if you have not been faithful in the use of unrighteous wealth, who will entrust the true wealth to you?” Luke 16:10-11

1. The WAY to God’s blessings
“Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights.” James 1:17

● Pride

“You say, ‘I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have no need of anything,’ and you do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked.” Revelation 3:17

● Shame

“Jacob said, ‘God of my father Abraham and God of my father Isaac, LORD, who said to me, “‘Return to your country and to your relatives, and I will make you prosper,” I am unworthy of all the favor and of all the faithfulness, which You have shown to Your servant.’” Genesis 32:9-10

2. The WHY of God’s blessings

“You will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous. And when we take your gifts to those who need them, they will thank God.”
2 Corinthians 9:11 NLT

“I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing; and I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.” Genesis 12:2-3

Because God has blessed us with more, we will intentionally give more.

3. The HOW of God’s blessings

● Spontaneous giving

“On the next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper and said, ‘Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I return, I will repay you.’” Luke 10:35

● Strategic giving

“Generous people plan to do what is generous, and they stand firm in their generosity.” Isaiah 32:8 NLT

● Sacrificial giving

“He sat down opposite the treasury, and began observing how the people were putting money into the treasury; and many rich people were putting in large sums. A poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which amount to a cent. Calling His disciples to Him, He said to them, ‘Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all the contributors to the treasury.’” Mark 12:41-44

Part 2: FAITH FILLED BIG THINKING

“Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us,” Ephesians 3:20

1. YOU CANNOT PLAY IT SAFE AND PLEASE GOD.

“And without faith it is impossible to please God.” Hebrews 11:6 BSB

God is glorified when ordinary people trust an extraordinary God!

2. FAITH FILLED THINKING SEES POSSIBILITY WHERE OTHERS SEE PROBLEMS.

“If the Lord is pleased with us, He will lead us into that land… Do not be afraid of the people of the land… The Lord is with us.” Numbers 14:8-9

“I will build My church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.” Matthew 16:18

Fear looks at the giants and forgets God.
Faith looks at the giants and remembers God.

3. FAITH FILLED THINKING MOVES FROM “JESUS & ME” TO “JESUS & US”

“Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Matthew 4:19

“And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” Acts 2:47

“Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.” 1 Corinthians 12:27

There is something powerful that happens when the people of God move from isolated faith to shared mission.

Jesus And Us, Part 1: Spiritual Contributors w/Pastor Bob Canter

Part 1: Spiritual Contributors

“The disciples were urging Him, saying, ‘Rabbi, eat something.’ But He said to them, ‘I have food to eat that you do not know about.’ So the disciples were saying to one another, ‘No one brought Him anything to eat, did he?’ Jesus said to them, ‘My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to accomplish His work.’”
John 4:31-34

Summary of today’s message:

We are not spiritual consumers, we are spiritual contributors. The church does not exist for us. We are the church, and we exist for the world.

● God calls us to serve in His church

“Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to use them properly: if prophecy, in proportion to one’s faith; if service, in the act of serving; or the one who teaches, in the act of teaching; or the one who exhorts, in the work of exhortation; the one who gives, with generosity; the one who is in leadership, with diligence; the one who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.” Romans 12:6-8

● God calls us to serve as His church

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Your light must shine before people in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16

God chose us to make a difference, but He doesn’t want us to do it alone. This message series will focus on values that will inspire our church in faith, serving, generosity, and evangelism. What we can’t do alone, God empowers us to do together!

Mother’s Day is a moment to honor the women who have shaped us, served us, prayed for us, sacrificed for us, and loved us in ways we may never fully understand. Today, we honor mothers with respect, time, love, and gratitude.

“Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.” Exodus 20:12

“Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity…” Ephesians 5:15–17

“Honor your father and mother—which is the first commandment with a promise—so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.” Ephesians 6:2–3

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” John 13:34

“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.” 1 John 3:16

He Is Risen!
More Than a Moment

Wk.4 Hope For The Rejected

1. We all experience rejection

“There was a man called by the name of Zaccheus; he was a chief tax collector and he was rich.” Luke 19:2

2. Rejection can make you spiritually hungry

“Zaccheus was trying to see who Jesus was, and he was unable due to the crowd, because he was short in stature.” Luke 19:3a

“So he ran on ahead and climbed up a sycamore tree in order to see Him, because He was about to pass through that way.” Luke 19:3b

3. When you are spiritually hungry, God is always there

“When Jesus came to the place, He looked up and said to him, ‘Zaccheus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.’ And he hurried and came down, and received Him joyfully. When the people saw this, they all began to complain, saying, ‘He has gone in to be the guest of a man who is a sinner!’” Luke 19:5-7

4. When God is there, His acceptance changes you

“Zaccheus stopped and said to the Lord, ‘Behold, Lord, half of my possessions I am giving to the poor, and if I have extorted anything from anyone, I am giving back four times as much.’ And Jesus said to him, ‘Today salvation has come to this house, because he, too, is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.’” Luke 19:8-10

The sacrifice of Jesus reaches into the deepest parts of our lives. Wherever there is brokenness, His mercy moves toward it with restoration and peace.
Jesus stepped into our rebellion, our sorrow, our woundedness, not to condemn us but to restore what sin had shattered.
