HUMILITY: LETTING GO

If it's one thing that we can all learn to appreciate more is how to let go - how to transition.

With God, one thing to let go of is the notion that you should hold on to things just because you feel attached to them.

Instead, you should let go when God says.
It's for your own good and will lead to your best interests being realized.

Letting go is an act of humility.

You won't know what could be, and this makes it a type of death.

Some of us go through grief with transition like this.

This decision changes the way your mind works in the moment. You might go from plans that were there, to being flexible, malleable, and patient while things begin to pass you by.

When you're out of God's timing, the choice to remain still rather than trying to create momentum seems irresponsible.

But in God's timing that very decision is His covering.

Like with ancient Israel in the wilderness after Egypt, the covering and approval to go forward was when God moved.

God's motion is different.

What feels like things passing you by may very well be God moving you past things you'd normally stop to spend time in.

For His sake, He's causing a transition so that the purposes He has in mind may be accomplished.

So hang tight. God's on the move.

God is the source of our light and hope. He has the power to illuminate our darkest moments and guide us forward when we cannot see the way ourselves.

Meditate on 1 Corinthians 12:10 and remember that the discerning of spirits is a gift from God that helps us recognize what is truly from His Spirit, what is human, and what is seeking to deceive.

HUMILITY AND THE FUTURE

At the precipice of change there will be a version of you that dies.

It's a version of you that has carried an expectation of what ought to happen.

It carries a version of the future that won't be anymore.

That expectation is what will glean the glory of God away from Him, even if unknowingly.

That expectation is that version of you that desires a sense of ownership in the things of God.

God is using these moments to draw our attention to faithfulness instead of restlessness.

Faithfulness resists shortcuts and remains in submission.

Faithfulness yields what you think you own to find rest in God's ownership of the process.

Faithfulness leads us to humility.

Humility does not find its own meaning.

Instead humility will keep us committed and rightly aligned with what meaning, purpose, and success are to God.

Humility will draw focus back to the process.

Humility makes no room for shortcuts to the process that originated with God, and what requires God's fruit of faithfulness to complete.

Humility to God's process will remind us of the individual components that make the motion and keep momentum.

Humility to God's process also will remind us that we are not so different than anyone else.

Humility to God's process will draw our focus to the reality that a "streamlined process" can mean overlooking the individual that needs attention, including yourself.

Yielding may cost the moment
but you will gain the future.

The point.
The version that must be left behind is not inclusive or expansive enough for the people, places, things, and ideas that God will speak to you and The Body about.

Allow Him the ability to cultivate this room - to hear, speak, approach, respond, and think newly about some things.

As a result, God will have created a pathway through you, instead of one that ends with you.

Today, thank God for the process.

Bless Him for the paths of His righteousness that He's making through you.

Thank Him for the attention to detail He has and ask Him to reveal more of His view in you.
