We enjoyed a beautiful Peace Walk today around downtown Bellingham. So powerful and moving to be joined by Buddhists, Christians, secular activists, and other faiths as we share in a simple practice: walking for peace. This prayer is something beyond any sectarian division. The common creed of humankind is the call to love one another and live in peace together. My heart breaks for the suffering of the world today, and I went to find solidarity in this humble practice of walking our prayers.
Our next Peace Walk will be April 5th, 130pm under the Acid Ball at Waypoint Park. 2.5 miles around downtown Bellingham.
And save the date! April 18th we will embark on a 25 mi peace walk from the Peace Arch to Bellingham. There will be a public gathering at Star Park in Ferndale, and at Cornwall Park. The final segment from Cornwall to Waypoint will also be open to the public. More details to come. Follow us on social media or join our WhatsApp group by scanning the QR code in our flyers.
Finally, as a wise bodhisattva once said,
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
