Holy Week - Easter Monday
Luke 24:32 "They said to each other, 'Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, while he opened to us the Scriptures?'"
The early church called this day Bright Monday. A reminder that the light of resurrection doesn't fade with the sunrise. Because Easter isn't the end of the story, it is the beginning of a new one. The risen Jesus still walks alongside us, often unrecognized at first like on the Emmaus road. He meets us in our questions, our doubts, our ordinary meals. The resurrection was never meant to stay in the sanctuary. It was meant to spill into the streets. So today we live as people of the risen King in a still-broken world. We walk with hope. We work with purpose. We love with power not our own.

Holy Week - Easter Sunday
Luke 24:5-6 "And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, 'Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen.'"
The tomb is empty. Jesus is alive. And that changes everything. Easter isn't the end of the story - it's the beginning. Death has been defeated. So let's be resurrection people. Let's forgive where others hold grudges. Let's bring light into dark places. Let's love like death has been defeated. He is risen!

Holy Week - Holy Saturday
Luke 23: 56 "On the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment."
The disciples were not waiting for a resurrection. Their hopes were shattered and they were grieving. Holy Saturday is for the space between death and life, between promise and fulfillment, between Good Friday's agony and Easter Sunday's joy. It's the space where nothing makes sense, and yet God is not absent. He is silent but still faithful and present. So don't rush to Sunday. Sit in the ache and the uncertainty. God is here too, in the confusion, in the silence, in the not-yet. And the tomb isn't the end of the story, but it is part of it.

Holy Week - Good Friday
Mark 15:33 "And when the sixth hour had come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour."
Jesus walked into this moment on purpose. He knew the price and paid it anyway. The cross is where justice and mercy collided. So today isn't about pretending this wasn't awful. But the worst thing that ever happened became the best news the world has ever known. Because on Good Friday, love won by laying itself down.

Holy Week - Maundy Thursday
John 13:4-5 "He rose from supper. He laid aside his outer garments, and taking a towel, tied it around his waist. Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him."
It's the night of the Last Supper. And still, Jesus chooses to kneel. The word Maundy comes from the Latin mandatum, meaning "command." Because Jesus gave them a new command that night, to love one another. And Jesus loved them with water and a towel, and bread and a promise. Maundy Thursday reminds us that real love takes up the towel, it breaks the bread, it kneels low. It doesn't just talk about sacrifice, it becomes it. So ask yourself, "How can I love others as He first loved me?"

Holy Week - Holy Wednesday
Matthew 26:14-15 "Then one of the twelve, whose name was Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests and said, 'What will you give me if I deliver him over to you?' And they paid him thirty pieces of silver."
This day is strangely quiet. No healings, parables, or miracles. According to Matthew, it's the day Judas makes a deal with the chief priests to betray Jesus. The Savior Judas wanted didn't match the Savior Jesus actually was. Holy Wednesday is a reminder of the hidden moments. The decisions no one sees, the quiet compromises, the private struggles. But Jesus is also quiet on this day. He doesn't lash out or confront Judas. Because Jesus always keeps moving toward us in love.

Holy Week - Holy Tuesday
Mark 11:27-28 "And as he was walking in the temple, the chief priests and the scribes and the elders came to him, and they said to him, 'By what authority are you doing these things, or who gave you this authority to do them?'"
The religious leaders question Jesus to trap him, to push him into a corner and call it blasphemy. But Jesus responds with wisdom that exposes their hearts and refuses to play by their rules. Sometimes, it's not just the Pharisees who get uncomfortable - it's us. Jesus still speaks with clarity today. He still tells stories that expose our self-righteousness, our misplaced priorities, our fear of surrender. Holy Tuesday is a call to courage to let Jesus speak the truth even when it confronts us.

Holy Week - Holy Monday
Mark 11:15 "And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold and those who bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons."
The place that was meant to be a house of prayer for all nations had become a system of profit and exclusion. And Jesus had enough. He disrupted business as usual to make space for something deeper: honest prayer, open access, and unfiltered communion with God. Sometimes Jesus needs to flip the tables in our own hearts too. Because He loves us too much to let us settle for noise when we were made for nearness. So what does Jesus want to overturn in you?

Holy Week - Palm Sunday
John 12:13 "So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying out 'Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!'"
They were expecting a new king and new kingdom. They spread their cloaks, thinking this is the beginning of the end for Rome. But it's not. Jesus rode in to lay down His life. Not to overthrow Rome, but to overthrow sin, shame, and the grave. It's easy to be in the right place with the wrong heart. To sing "Hosanna!" but mean "Give me what I want." This Holy Week, may we not miss the true Jesus. Let's follow Jesus, not just into the city, but all the way to the cross.
