St. Matthew Community Spreading the Gospel and Forming disciples through our community, outreach, and academic excellence. Of the many key dates in the history of our St.

Matthew parish family, some include:

• 1963: Cardinal Spellman School opened to serve military families seeking a Catholic education for their children.
• 1996: St. Matthew parish was founded with a decree of er****on from Archbishop Eldon Curtis. Cardinal Spellman School was part of the new parish and became St. Matthew Catholic School.
• November, 2020: St. Matthew completed and dedicated our

first parish church. Founding pastor, Fr. Dennis Stolinski named this parish Matthew, which means “Gift from God!” This meaning, gift from God, rings so true in this parish community. From the very early days at Cardinal Spellman, to the founding of St. Matthew parish and to this present day, so very many people have been part of that “Gift from God” that Fr. Stolinski spoke of in 1996. With our new church dedicated in 2020 and our parish growth spiking, we offer many different ministries for each person to consider how they can more fully engage with our parish family, and to use our God given talents for the benefit of our parish community.
