WHY I AM A PASTOR
Humanity was made in the image of God, and has been given a special place in representing Him upon this earth. This is very specifically fulfilled in the lives of Christian people, and more specifically, members of his local churches.
We are living in the church age. Jesus commissioned his local churches to fulfill the responsibility of proclaiming the gospel to every person, baptizing them, and teaching them how to live the Christian life. This massive work requires men to lead it. Those men are pastors.
As a pastor, my heart is to see Christian people fulfill their individual God-given purposes in their personal lives, and in the roles they fill within the local assemblies of which they are members. I want to help my brothers and sisters develop the spiritual maturity and discipline necessary to bring God glory in every area of life. I desire to lead a church of believers to walk in the fruit of the Spirit. I want your personal relationship with God, your family life, your careers, and your positions in your communities to point this world to Jesus Christ.
My leadership style is to oversee ministry, not to dictate it. I want to help equip, encourage, and stand with you in whatever it is that God is leading you to do in your life to accomplish his divine purposes. I have no intention of using church members to fulfill MY vision. My purpose in this role of pastor is to teach, preach, and counsel you in such a way that you can succeed in this life for Jesus.
As pastor, I stand accountable before God in upholding the standards and parameters by which each ministry operates, in order to ensure they are conducted in obedience to God's Word.
My desire is to lead a church where we learn the Bible, grow together in peace and joy without pressure or fear. I desire to lead a church where we can simply worship God, and serve others as happy Christians. My desire is to lead a church that fights the spiritual battle, and leads others out of the snare of the Devil with the love of Christ. I desire to lead a church where hurting people can heal, and find Christian community.
