A prayer liturgy for Black History Month and for immigrant communities.

In the face of escalating injustice towards immigrants and other communities of color, we name the intersecting legacies of racialized violence and resistance as we remember that Black communities have long experienced and named state-sanctioned violence and injustice while also leading movements of resistance for human rights and dignity for all. 🖤

We’re grateful for our amazing community member for writing and composing this piece.

On Holy Saturday we sit in the tension between death and life. But tomorrow we will gather to celebrate the resurrected Jesus. ❤️

Join us at 3pm either in-person at Lincoln Center Office Park (4 Tomorrow Safe Parking) or online on the CG app. For those joining in-person, doors open at 2:30pm for our “Easter Sunday Pre-Party” with coffee, light refreshments and an Easter egg hunt for the little ones. Kids will also be invited to stay in service with the adults as we will not be offering separate CG Kids programming, but instead will have a special CG Kids Easter moment as well as Easter coloring activity books and crayons available for children during service.

Today is Good Friday, a day to reflect on the significance of the crucifixion and the death of Jesus Christ on a cross. We invite you to join us tonight for a special in-person only reflective Good Friday worship experience at 4 Tomorrow’s Safe Parking “Living Room” with doors opening at 7pm.

As this will be a self-guided, interactive experience, you are welcome to drop in anytime between 7pm and 8:30pm for a time of reflection and prayer as you journey through the Stations of the Cross. Traditionally depicted in a series of fourteen images, the Stations highlight pivotal moments in Jesus’ final hours leading up to his ex*****on. We’ll be displaying a powerful version of the Stations of the Cross, artwork painted by men on Tennessee’s death row—who, while awaiting their own ex*****on, contemplated and depicted the state-sanctioned ex*****on of Jesus. A digital guide will be available to help you (and your children, if applicable) walk through the stations at your own pace. Learn more at link in bio.

Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week and the last week of Jesus’ life. Join us at 3pm as Pastor Royce shares a timely message entitled “Praise, Protest & Palm Branches,” inviting us to contemplate the symbolism of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem—not on a war horse, but on a humble donkey as an act of resistance and subversion against empire. Together, we’ll consider how this reimagining shapes our understanding of Good Friday, Easter Sunday, and what it means to follow Jesus today.

Join us this Sunday, March 30th at 3pm as we host a special showing of the documentary “God & Country” — a film that discusses the emergence of Christian Nationalism and its close relationship with far-right politics in the United States. Featuring leading Christian thinkers, the documentary questions what happens when a faith centered on love, sacrifice, and forgiveness becomes entangled with power, money, and hyper-nationalism.

We believe watching this film together as a community is especially timely as we navigate today’s sociopolitical climate and engage in our current sermon series, Revelation: Following Jesus in the Face of Empire.

After the documentary, we’ll share a community dinner and discussion. RSVP at link in bio to join us for this important conversation.

On we intentionally carve out space as a community to put God’s love into action and find creative and tangible ways to serve our neighbors and to work together for the common good.

Join us this Sunday at 3pm at 4 Tomorrow Safe Parking for an afternoon of community building and friendly competition as we race against each other (and the clock!) to SHOP & ASSEMBLE “Welcome to 4 Tomorrow Safe Parking” kits for new arrivals at the center, and “Home Starter” kits to help families transition into temporary or permanent housing.

The goal is to see who can build the most kits in the designated time period with the allocated funds provided for you and your team!

Kids will have opportunities to write letters of encouragement to include in the kits, and we’ll conclude our time together with a community dinner with our 4 Tomorrow Safe Parking families. Make sure to RSVP with the link in our bio to let us know you’re coming! ❤️

Join us this evening for an intimate Ash Wednesday gathering at 4 Tomorrow Safe Parking. The evening will begin with a community dinner at 5 PM, followed by a time of reflection, sharing, and the imposition of ashes.

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a 40-day season of prayer, fasting, repentance, charity, and preparation for the coming of Easter.

For those unable to join us in person, we invite you to observe Ash Wednesday at home with family, friends, or your Co-op. Our Lent Resource Guide at commongood.church/lent includes a guided at-home interactive Ash Wednesday meditation and liturgy, designed for use with your Ash Wednesday Take-Home Kit.

To support you on your 40-day Lenten journey, we’ve created a Lent Resource Guide at commongood.church/lent with a variety of resources, articles, and devotionals to engage with individually, with your family, or in a small group.

May this Lenten season be a time to pause, reflect, and deepen your relationship and love for God, yourself, and others. 🖤

At the start of every year, we embark on a 21 day prayer & fasting journey as a community with the intention of centering and aligning ourselves, both individually and collectively, with God. In doing so, our hope is that we would catch a God-shaped vision for ourselves, for our community, and for the world around us.

Join us on the journey at commongood.church/21days and download our Common Good app for our Daily Prayer Guide.

Day 1: Believing for More

Have you ever felt stuck? Perhaps it’s a certain situation or set of circumstances you find yourself in that have resulted in you feeling as if the way things are now, are just the way things will always be. It’s especially in those seasons, where it’s easy to look around at the current circumstances of life and to give up hoping and believing that more is possible.

What might it look like for you to give yourself permission to believe again? To allow yourself to hope that in 2025, things might and can be different and look different? To have conviction that God might have more in store for you than what your present circumstances have led you to believe?

Scripture reminds us that “faith is the confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” This is what it means to be a person of faith. This is what it means to be Christian. That in spite of our current reality or the realities around us that can be seen, we hold on to a confidence and an assurance in a God who loves us, is with us and always wants more for us. And we put our faith, trust and hope in a God who desires that all would flourish.

May these next 21 days be an invitation for you to give yourself permission to hope and believe that more is possible — for ourselves, for our communities, and for the world around us.
oming year.

Prayer: God, would you awaken within me a capacity to believe again. Would you give me the courage and confidence to trust that you want more for me and for those around me. Amen.
