Yesterday in Worship we explored the mystery of the Trinity by learning more about the ancient church teaching of the Trinity as the 'Divine Dance of Love' (from the Greek Perichoresis). The author of this prayer, Sydney B. Carter, was also the composer of the song "The Lord of the Dance". So you are invited today to begin your week reflecting on God's call for you to join in on the 'Divine Dance of Love' of the Trinity through both Carter's prayer and his song! Let's all put on our discipleship dancing shoes and join the Trinity in the 'Dance of Love' to both nurture our own Spirits and to 'dance' in the ways we encounter and support others in our lives and world.

Invite me to dance.
Lead the way.
Teach me the steps
And I will follow you.
Twirl me around wildly
Or do a slow glide.
Whatever the form
I will remain in step,
Heeding the gestures
Of your graced movement.
Today: I let the Lord of the Dance lead me.

The Church has been puzzling on the meaning of the Trinity forever and we won't solve it, but we will explore what it might mean for the everyday living of our lives. 🙏🏾 Eternal God,

When we find ourselves despairing the state of the world and disappointed and fearful of violence and suffering, draw near to us.

Surround us, and all who suffer, with your love.

We know that your presence does not mend immediate needs, that our prayers for peace may sound too simple, yet we say both over and over.

We believe that you respond in ways we do not see. We believe that in saying the words, we speak of a future worth imagining.

Send peace to this world God. Draw near to us and all who are suffering. Amen

Just a small sample of the desserts Zwingli will sell at the Brat Sale tomorrow (10 am - 2 pm at Miller & Sons Supermarket in Verona)! Come on over for Brats and Dessert - and pass the word on to friends and family! We have at least 150 desserts which include scotcheroos, lemon bars, cookies, rhubarb bars, rice krispie bars, a variety of brownies, and even one full angel food cake! Many thanks to all those who brought desserts and to our preparation team of Cherry, Louise, Faith, Debbie and Kriss! Many thanks to all those volunteering tomorrow!

Congratulations to our neighbor congregation Zwingli UCC in Monticello and their new pastor Rev. Peter Strobel who was installed as pastor on May 17! Pastor Karla represented Zwingli Paoli at the Installation service.

Good Friday morning, Wisconsin Conference friends. It’s been a happy week at Zwingli UCC in Monticello, where the Rev. Peter Strobel was installed as pastor on Sunday.
