Psalm 23: The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his names sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table for me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

A shepherd, back in those days, was an overseer for his flock. He spent tireless and endless hours, days, weeks, caring for the herd. He gave up everything for them to see to their well being. We have a shepherd like that in the Lord. He is always there for us and he never tires. He prepares the way for us, and when we meet with rough times he pulls us through. Surely we are forever in debt to him and I will always serve and honor him.

A great lesson to be seen this week. I have been struggling with a cataract for several weeks now. It has gotten very bad. To the point where I almost had a mini breakdown when I was making mistakes at work. We pastors are people too and we have struggles like anyone else. One person at work was honest and called me out. He said, "You are a pastor, where is your faith?" That is the best thing I have ever heard. This has actually become a blessing, and I do have dates for pre-op visit on June 12th. I have realized how much we sometimes take for granted and temporarily losing my vision has taught me that. I have since prayed and meditated over this and God has been leading the way. We need to appreciate all God does for us and stop taking small things for granted. God is so big and so God he blesses us in ways that we don't even see. Thank you God for once again showing me who you really are.

Philippians 2:3-5, "Do nothing out of rivalry or vanity; but, in humility, regard each other as better than yourselves-- look out for each others interests and not just your own. Let your attitude toward one another be governed by being in union with the Messiah Yeshua."

This is a basic formula for all of life. As we grow in Christ we should develop a servants heart. Our desire should be for the well being of others even over our well being. Iron sharpens iron and we can all sharpen one another and make each other the best versions of ourselves imaginable. God created community for us to strengthen one another and bond in a way that with all of our gifts combined, we can live without fear of anything this world can throw at us. There is strength in numbers and much comfort can be found there as well.

1 John 4:9-11, "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone that does not love does not know God, because God is love. In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.

We have the greatest example of love that the world has ever seen. God sent his only Son here to be tortured and die on a cross to sacrifice himself for our sins. Heb was innocent, we are guilty, yet he still loved us enough to do this. Love is an action. Just as God sent his Son for us, we are to do loving gestures for each other. We are meant to live in a community that builds one another up. Not one that lives selfishly for our own ambitions and tearing each other down along the way. If we all lived in love and unison the way that God intended and de3igned, our world would be an amazing place. So I would like to encourage all of you to do acts of kindness and show some love. If we all do this, things will be amazing.
