This Sunday is Trinity Sunday, when we celebrate the mystery of one God in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Just as Genesis is less concerned with explaining how creation happened than with revealing the loving Creator who called it good, the doctrine of the Trinity is less about explaining God and more about knowing God.

In John 17, Jesus prays, "that they may all be one... as you, Father, are in me and I am in you" and "that they may be one as we are one." Jesus does not merely teach about the relationship between the Father and the Son—he invites us into it.

On Trinity Sunday, we celebrate not that we have explained God, but that God has made himself known and has invited us into the unity and love shared by the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

In Luke chapter 7 we read about a woman who lived a sinful life and wept at Jesus' feet, pouring perfume on them. The Pharisee who was with Jesus was disturbed by this, as surely Jesus knew what kind of woman she was --a sinner!

This story leads us to ask a few questions:
How did Jesus relate to sinners?
How do we relate to sinners?

This Sunday Daryl Hartzler will be sharing with us, exploring this text and these questions. We invite you to come worship and learn with us!

Finally, in this season of Easter, we must look at the pressures and temptations that emerged as the new resurrection community began to grow. The threats came both from outside and from within.

Outside: The resurrection of Jesus did not create a casual movement; it created a people with a new allegiance. In a world where Caesar claimed the title “Lord and God,” the early church boldly proclaimed that Jesus alone is Lord—even when it cost them everything.

Inside: At the same time, Luke records accounts such as the sons of Sceva (Simon the Sorcerer, and Ananias and Sapphira) to show that the name of Jesus could not be used falsely or manipulated for power, status, or appearance. The resurrection community is called to real authority, real risk, and genuine surrender rooted in a relationship with the risen Christ.

We invite you to come worship with us this Sunday!

We're still diving into how the resurrection redrew the map of belonging. Before the resurrection, Jesus’ disciples had walked with Him and witnessed His compassion, yet they still struggled with what to do with outsiders: Gentiles, women, and those considered ritually unclean. The world they came from was built on separation, and that shaped how they understood access to God.

Then the RESURRECTION happened! The curtain was torn open for everyone. Suddenly, belonging to God was no longer determined by ethnicity, gender, status, or religious background.

This was as radical then as it is now because it means even the people we think are the furthest from God are still invited in. So the question remains for us today: who are we still keeping in the outer courts? And what walls are we still holding onto that Jesus already tore down?

With May having five Sundays, we are designating this Sunday as Music Sunday!

In place of our sermon, Andrea Yoder will lead us through some extra singing.

"Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts." Colossians 3:16

In this Easter season, we’re exploring how the resurrection is not just a one-time event, but something that redefined the everyday lives of those who encountered the risen Christ. One powerful moment unfolds by the sea in John 21, where Jesus meets Peter and asks a simple yet profound question: “Peter, do you love me?”

This moment is not just a single conversation. It is the climax of a real and practical relationship in which Peter’s everyday experiences, his bold declarations, human weakness, courage, impulsiveness, doubt, and devotion, met the patient and restoring love of Christ.

Join us as we reflect on Peter’s story and consider how the resurrection continues to transform lives long after that first Easter morning.

During the season of Easter, we remember that the resurrection of Jesus was not just a single moment or day but the beginning of many powerful encounters with the risen Christ. In everyday life, repeated exposure to major events can make us less sensitive to them over time.

Yet the resurrection story shows the opposite.

Each appearance of Jesus deepened the faith of those who encountered him. In John 21:1–14, Jesus appears a third time to seven disciples by the Sea of Galilee, reminding them that he is present and still at work in their lives.

Where might the risen Jesus still be showing up and meet with us today? On the couch? At our desk? In the kitchen? In the field or at work? The risen Christ still meets us in the ordinary spaces of our lives.

We would love to have you join us this Sunday!
