Check back for weekly lesson recaps and creative ways to talk with your kids about what they are learning each week.

See you tomorrow!

On Sunday we learned about communion in RK. Parents, as you tuck in your kids tonight, take a moment to talk about Communion.

READ: Matthew 26:17–19, 26–30; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26

In the Bible story, Jesus shared a very special meal with His disciples. We call it the Last Supper. The bread represents His body, broken for us, and the cup represents His blood, shed for us. Every time we share Communion, we remember what Jesus did on the Cross.

ASK: “What does Communion remind us of?”
“Why should we take Communion?”

Prayer: “Dear Jesus, thank You for Your love for us. Help us to remember what You did for us when we take Communion. Amen.”

Hey, parents! We taught on water baptism on Sunday. Take a a couple minutes this week to recap Sunday's lesson.

What is water baptism? Baptism is an outward display of an inward work. We celebrate baptism as a public declaration of our decision to follow Jesus as our Lord and Savior.

Why do we get baptized? Jesus led by example in Matthew 3:13–17. Jesus asked John the Baptist to baptize Him. We follow Jesus’ example and are baptized to show the world that we are a new creation in Christ.

Let’s celebrate baptism together! Baptism is an important and exciting part of every Christian’s walk with Jesus. If you have asked Jesus to forgive you for the wrong things you’ve done, then you are ready for the next step.Let’s talk about next steps as a family!

As a reminder, we have baptisms happening April 26th. If your little one is showing interest talk with Lindsay or Felicia!

Parents, here’s something to think about on your drive today from Sunday's lesson: What does it mean to be part of God’s family?

In Ephesians 1:5, God’s heart for us is clear: He adopts us into His family, the Church. Church isn’t just a building—it’s a family of believers. When we choose Jesus, we join a community that grows, celebrates, and serves together.

As you drive today, talk with your kids about:
-What does it look like to be part of God’s family?
-How can we support and encourage each other in our church family?
-What’s one way you can serve or bless someone in the church this week?

Hey, parents, take a second over dinner to discuss a topic we learned in River Kids on Sunday: I pursue God.ďż˝

In Matthew 6:33, Jesus said, “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”

Try these 3 questions to get the conversation started with your kids this evening:

1. Have you ever had a best friend you’ve never talked to? It’s hard to be close to someone without communication, and it’s the same in our relationship with God. Let’s take time to talk with God this week!God is our Heavenly Father.

2. Jesus taught us to call God “Our Father” and speak to Him like we would a close friend. God wants us to talk to Him personally because He is our Heavenly Father. (Matthew 6:5–18)We can talk to God about anything.

3. God invites us to bring all our requests to Him, no matter how big or small. Is there something that concerns you today that you’d like to talk to God about? God is so big and He is so great and still He wants to talk with us.

Parents, be sure to share a time that you talked to God and He answered your prayer. Let's continue to encourage our kids to make time to talk to God for themselves this week.
